So a buddy of mine asked this hypothetical question, and I thought it would be interesting to post it here...

With the news of delays and whatever with the Bronco, if Jeep announced tomorrow an all new Wrangler that offered more than the Bronco and had an all new retro look like the Jeepster concept, AND it had a guaranteed delivery date, what would you do?
So what if Toyota came up with a completely new 4Runner, say a 2023 model to be introduced in 2022?

Toyota is basing the 6th gen 2023 4Runner on an entirely new platform and will be available in the fall of 2022. The new platform, not a refresh, called the TNGA-F, will be shared by the Tundra, Tacoma, Sequoia and 4Runner.

That would be interesting. I really love the idea of a removable top though.

No because the Jeep Wrangler JL is already great as-is. Doesn't need the changes you suggest. But I already have two Jeeps, and am interested in something as capable but different with the Bronco. Well, if Bronco ever arrives.

Jeep has had plenty of time for new ideas :)

Although with time the competition will definitely benefit the segment overall

Jeep isn’t the only game in town so they might actually show some innovation and listen to their customers

Toyota might actually update

Yes, but ask many a Jeep owner how often the top comes off, some a lot, some very seldom, if ever.
I’ve always wanted a Jeep to cruise around with the top down. Now that I’m at a place in life I can get one I tell myself “I hope the Air conditioner works good and the hard top can retain it in the summertime “

Although I will say that on some of these perfect spring and fall days it’s a shame not to take it off :)

I don’t understand your question? Is Jeep offering me a million dollars plus a free Jeep to switch from a Bronco?
If so, the answer is still NO.
Bronco or bust...

Nope.

Having owned a Jeep, I wasn't impressed with the quality, and I don't like the look of Wranglers at all - and the Jeepster even less.

Even if that wasn't true - making a decision based on a manufacturer's promise of a guaranteed delivery date for a newly announced product is just begging to be lied to and disappointed. And that's in the best of times, nothing like the global chaos right now. I am not a moron.
