What is a Powertrain Wrap ESP???

I had a 2021 Bronco and just purchased a 2025.
I had, and always had, a PremiumCare ESP for every Ford vehicle I purchased over the years.
On this one, I thought that I had once again purchased a PremiumCare ESP and the price was about $700 less than Granger, so I felt it was a great price.
However, when I was going through the paperwork after getting home, I saw that it was listed as a Powertrain Wrap ESP.
I have never heard of a "wrap" warranty and can find zero information on what is covered other than when scanning the QR code on the Ford Protect form, which states that if you elected a Powertrain Wrap warranty, you have a new PremiumCare warranty that covers all components except for components covered by the PowertrainCare warranty. It also states that the warranty cannot be transferred to a new owner upon selling the vehicle.
I called Ford and spoke to a rep that couldn't tell me exactly what was covered, only that it covers "more" than a PremiumCare ESP.
I've sent messages to Ford to get more clarity but no response.
I've contacted the dealer and no help.
So, does anyone know what a Powertrain Wrap is, and what it covers?
The best I can tell, the powertrain coverage is less than what would be covered by PremiumCare, but it covers interior/exterior lighting, key fob replacement, and mobile service.

Premium care includes what is covered by the powertrain. It’s more comprehensive. The powertrain just covers limited powertrain components. I think $700 is a good price. I’m considering added this coverage too. I like my Bronco way more than I thought I would and would like to keep it for many years without worry. Correct, but this is a Powertrain Wrap warranty which seems to include the PremiumCare, but reduces powertrain coverage in the PremiumCare to a PowertrainCare level. It was $700 less than a Granger PremiumCare ESP.
No one can tell me if my interpretation is correct or not. There are no brochures, Ford doesn't list them on their ESP Protect site, and the rep I spoke to doesn't seem to know either.

Wrap just means it “wraps” around your factory warranty. I’ve never seen that mentioned before by Ford or ESP. If it says powertrain wrap, then all you have is the normal PremiumCare warranty, without the additional Powertrain coverage.

Normally “wrap” in warranty (or insurance) just means it wraps around your current warranty. So it doesn’t include what’s included in your current warranty it includes extra components. It’s so you don’t double coverage. Not sure if wrap is also used as a time component. I agree, it’s more confusing than it should be. For $700 I think maybe you did just get additional powertrain coverage only. Could you give more detail on how many miles and or years it covers?

It's a 10 year 100k that was $2100.

I've purchased PremiumCare ESP warranties on every Ford vehicle I've purchased over the last 30 years and this is the first time I've heard of a Wrap.

Correct. There may be some things that are covered passed the 5/60, but not the big main things

Hopefully a cautionary tale for all, and an important lesson to learn...read and understand all financial documents before signing anything.

There are usually ways to get out of things afterwards, but it's not always easy and can be time consuming. Read the fine print. Typically, add-on products like warranties and service plans have a 'ticking clock' clause. The consumer will have a period of time where they can cancel the purchase. If financed, that amount gets adjusted. If paid up front, a refund check is issued.

As mentioned, the term "wrap" is used in multiple industries for an add-on product or service that wraps around an existing product/service. In my case, my Bronco came with a 3rd party lifetime power train warranty. I was offered a lifetime wrap warranty (from the same 3rd party) that covered everything except the powertrain. If purchased, I then had 60 days to cancel.

Not all add-ons are inherently bad, but the starting price is typically a bad value for the consumer. Know that they are all negotiable, much more so than the price of the vehicle. These add-ons is how the dealer's finance person earns their money. They'd rather have any sale than no sale at all, so keep saying No until the price gets to a point that you find value in the purchase.
