Notice cleaning her Sport the front bumper was damaged. She doesn’t recall what happened. Later it’s the dial shifter and went wrong way. Still doesn’t recall what she hit. I figured it out and she suddenly got her memory back. Bronco for the win. Loss for the wallet. Will do self repair. Still materials and time.

I just passed one of these on my way to work this morning and thought it was great.
Looked like the tacoma had backed into a yellow cement pole.

My experience with women (young and old) is that they struggle with accountability in one way or another. It isn't their fault though. Men train them to be unaccountable. Their dads, their brothers, their friends, boyfriends, etc. From a young age they learn that answers like "I don't know" are actually perfectly reasonable answers and that if they say it and bat their eyes and smile, then for them the problem just magically gets fixed by those men and that's that.

Psychobable time... many people (men and women) have avoidant-type personality traits and attachment styles. For those folks, mistakes and accidents are bad and a reflection of who they are as a person. Therefore, her mistake is bad, now she's bad and she feels powerful shame about herself.

You can fix this. I did with my wife, who happened to be a Dismissive-Avoidant attachment style (the absolute worst type). It is definitely challenging though.

I don't disagree but on the other hand, the fear of repercussions of their actions is typically the reason. Hot tempered people and punishment will likely make one avoid the truth.

It's 50/50. For some, punishment or shame increase the avoidant-type of fear and lead to lying, hiding and manipulation. For others, the threat of punishment leads to behavior correction, growth and full accountability.

It's a toss-up and I think it all starts in our formitive years and how our parents behaved. I think there is something genetic at play too. For example my brother and I are completely different. Dad was old school and a hot-headed Italian. Mom was completely avoidant. I learned that discipline and punishment helped to shape me into someone with accountability and integrity. My brother...not so much. He learned how to be better at lying and hiding the bad stiff he did.

Try to control the devil. Practice stoicism. No reason to live life by reacting to what other people do. When we do that, our lives are a toller coaster being controlled by anyone we cross paths with.
