110# isn’t bad. And yeah, I’d continually forget setting my coffee mug down on it. Way too inviting looking. Haha. I really like how yours give a nod to Gen1’s modded with wide tires on white dishes. You have a perfect amount of poke I think. Did you add spacers for that? Different offset on new rims? Or is it simply wider tires..
I was going for the 1st gen look on mine, which is another reason I went with that bumper :) No spacers. Wheels have 0mm OS and 4.75" BS. I did the JKS Max Tire Clearance mod as well, just to clear my 37's! Tires are standard 12.50" wide. I have much shorter flares though.

Wife has same wheels and tires, just 35's, instead of 37's. She had to keep the OEM Heritage flares, since the fenders/quarters are different than the rest of ours...

I was just thinking about these wheels and what made this guy come to off-road trail.
I'm not sure? He and his wife had almost matching Bronco's, both 4dr and White, she had purple accents, but much nicer wheels and hers was a WT. She had very loud, obnoxious music blasting out of some aftermarket speakers. He had red accents, those awful wheels and his was a BD. In my opinion, neither were the true offroad type of people I'm used to riding with.

I had to drive his wife's Bronco through an easy washout, because she got scared of one rear wheel coming off the ground, on the Bronco in front of her. When we got caught up to the rest of the group, I told the girls husband, that I had to save her on that obstacle, because he ran off and left her! He said, just punch it and send it, who cares if you flip it! I told him, that's definitely not the way I ride! That was a downright shitty thing to say if you ask me!

My wife drove through it like it wasn't anything, but I got out and spotted her. To be honest, really poor offroading from this group we went on... Communication was not that great. Nobody in front of me waited for us to catch up, actually, the one in front of me was the mall crawlers wife, that I saved... She was also tailgating whoever was in front of her. Neither of them wanted any GMRS handhelds. Every time my wife and I got to an intersection, I would have to key up the leader to find out which way they went... Just a poor offroading experience, in my opinion...

That's why my wife and I are going to be the only 2 going this weekend. I don't think I want to ride with the majority of the ones we went riding with 2 weekends ago, again, LOL!

The Bronco groups can sometimes bring out the inexperienced and downright unprepared. When they get dangerous, though... I missed two outings earlier this year where this guy insisted on leading, took every hard obstacle and mud path and sped through things without waiting, from what I understand. Thankfully, there's cooler heads involved and I think he got the message. He didn't come out to the ones I went out on later.

@Mirage The trucks look great. Some of my favorite 2-doors & I'm not a fan of the EG in general, but love the way yours came out 🤠 .

Youtube is full of that nonsense if that is what you are looking for 😏
Thanks! EG wouldn't have been my 1st choice either, until I saw this rendering on this forum, then I knew I had to have it!

Agreed on YouTube idiots acting stupid on trails. Was researching the ride we're going to this weekend and found a bunch of spoiled kids, all in Toyota's and Lexus's spinning out in water crossings or hitting water crossings too fast and just giggling like little whores! I thought to myself, what a bunch of idiots, that's how drive-train parts break!

Looks like a good ride. Your wife will never want to ride shotgun again.
Thanks! That's fine, she doesn't have ride shotgun anymore, LOL! I can drive fine without here :)

Yea, I kinda hope they stick to the streets/mall. He asked me after the ride about my wife's front bumper. I gave him all the info about it. I said, it was a pain to install. He then said, oh, I didn't think about that, I don't have tools, I'll guess I'll have to find someone to install it... I just shook my head when he said that... After the ride 2 weeks ago, he asked me to check out these bumpers he found, so I did.

Amazon junk, called Sunpie.... :( They're like $500 for the pair. I said, what exactly do you like about these things? He said, the red, they match my wheels! I said, you do what you want too, it's your money, but if it were me, I'd buy quality/function-ability over some half ass red spray painted parts... He just gave me a thumbs up and never said anything else.... I told my wife, they were both mall krawlers, neither had business off the pavement...

So wait a min… is that a stock wheel then? With 4.75 backspace and no offset and you’re still getting that much poke? Or is it a wider wheel.
And BTW, that’s an awesome experience for the Mrs. Way cool that she’s into it and a huge confidence builder. Apologies for not acknowledging before now.

It's poor attitude to take. There is no need to gatekeep. Every one of us had to start somewhere. No one knows everything their first day on the trail.

The trail lead and organizer is at fault to for not briefing everyone before the ride on proper trail etiquette.

There are many chances for newcomers to enter the hobby. Take the time to be nice and answer a few questions and show them a few tips.

No, neither of ours has the OEM wheels anymore. We have Fifteen52's Analog HD's 17x8.5, 0mm OS, 4.75" BS.

My Bronco has 37x12.50x17 Baja Boss MT's

Wife's has 35x12.50x17 Baja Boss MT's

She has the stock SAS lift and doesn't rub at all, on or offroad

I have the stock SAS lift, plus an additional 2.5" lift, plus the JKS Clearance kit and don't rub on or offroad.

We both have the same wheels and same width tires. She just has the OEM HEL Flares and I have KBD Classic Flares, which are almost Flare deletes, LOL! They are maybe 2 inches wide?

She wanted to learn how to offroad and we aren't getting any younger, so I told her to pick out what she wanted and we would start out easy and progress to tougher stuff and she was completely onboard with it! I bought her the same tires I have and I picked out her winch, but she picked out everything else! We might have to pull her step boards down the road though.

Poor attitude? So sue me! They can go do whatever they want too, I don't care! I just don't want to ride with them again, considering what he told his wife to do, then ran off and left her on that obstacle.... They both didn't wait for anyone, music too loud to communicate.

You don't know me! I am nice and I've tried to help people that ask for it, but if you're going to ignore everything I say, I'm not going to be nice or helpful anymore. I'm just getting older and don't want to babysit people that definitely don't pay attention...

I do agree with you, that the trail leader was to blame, he was in the Raptor and hauling ass. He even said, I was the more experienced off-roader, haha! He didn't even want to take the time to air down, which is another no-no in my opinion. Wife and I were damn near in the rear of the group.

Nobody helped me learn how to do anything when I was learning, that was 10+ years ago, but I had common sense not to act like these 2 did on the trail. Some people just aren't cut out for doing this. Dude didn't even have a winch, that's the 1st thing on the list, when it comes to wanting to learn how to go offroading...

I don't see any gatekeeping in his statement. In fact, he appears to have given solid advice to someone who doesn't know better, if their intent is to go off road. Hoping that he sticks to friendlier climes in another context might be chippy, but in no way did I see he told the guy to stay away because he's not capable or otherwise wrong for off roading full stop.

I do agree, though, the organizer and lead should've been more attentive and active on the ride. That was my first thought, in fact. I've been lead several times and always wonder if I'm doing the mother duck thing too much and coming off like a boy scout. Been on rides where the lead couldn't care less what happens behind them. As you point, it takes all kinds, but the latter IMO has literally hurt people and that was someone who should've known better but was more focused on getting YouTube footage.

I don't have a winch nor a plan to get one. 🤷‍♂️ I know, famous last words but where I go, there's usually someone around who does and I frankly don't care to go through the rigmarole for something I may never use.

It's fine if we don't want to ride with others. But then don't sign up for a group ride especially one geared towards newcomers. When you do attend such a ride, then bring your patience and kindness. Help others out and don't sweat the small stuff.

I'm leading a ride next week geared towards beginners. I fully expect it to be a sh!t show. But I'll pack my patience and kindness. Start off with a proper briefing and walk the line before we head out to make sure everyone is prepared. On such rides, I have more tolerance for those who know nothing versus those who claim to know it all and their actions don't show it.
