Has anyone had their Bronco wrapped? What was the cost? Not looking to do the hard top. Is it possible to DIY since relatively flat doors and fenders and quarters easy to remove to possibly make it easier.

Wrap or PPF? Personally I’m not gonna DIY a wrap and certainly not a PPF. Had mine PPFd by reputable shop. Paid $7500 roughly

I had mine fully wrapped with PPF (except for the MIC top) last January by the company I work for, so I just paid for the materials (just under $1,000).

I was told with labor it would've been over $5K.

I'm sure you can get it done cheaper, but you often get what you pay for. Our shop takes all the exterior trim off so that they can hide the seams under the door handles, around the door edges, behind the taillights, and under the roof panels. Some shops will cut around those pieces, but the issue then is that those edges eventually collect dirt, they are visible and could eventually lead to peeling.

The film they used is made Stek and is called Stek DynoShield and is impregnated with ceramic.

I've attached pictures.

Wrapped mine myself about 3-years ago. Watched a lot of YouTube and was sure to buy extra material. Took about 2 weekends, some trial and error and a few blistered fingers but got the job done and I am proud of the way it turned out. The concave corners above and below the headlights and taillights were the toughest and I spent more time working those small areas than an entire door panel. Above the windshield was also tough, I didn't like the way those corners turned out so I removed the wrap and coated the windshield frame, roll bar and door jambs in black plasti-dip. If you are buying a Bronco to wrap, buy a black one. This way the painted areas that don't get wrapped won't look goofy.

All that said, when my wife's Bronco came in, I paid someone to wrap it. Cost around $3200 about 2-years ago (if I remember right). I would expect it to be more expensive today and it looks like you need to add a CA cost factor as well.

3-years later and my handywork still looks good except for some bubbling turned cracking in the door creases for which I trimmed and then added a blue stripe to conceal:

That plasti-dipped windshield frame looks better than I expected.

Seems like $5k+ is the going rate.

I really just want the fenders, doors, rear quarters done. Trying to find someone that will just do those.

You're probably looking at $5K (+) doing everything but the hard top. But you'll get 95% of the protection doing the whole front including front fenders and the windshield frame. 98% if you do the lower door (from the bottom to where the crease is) back to the front of the rear wheel. You'll spend about 40% doing the front clip and windshield surround, no more than 50% including the lower side. If you look very closely, you might see the edge of the PPF if they do only the lower doors, but it blends in very well at that crease.

I had my bronco get full body ppf plus the roof for 5500. If I didn’t get roof done then it would have costed 4900.

Normally PPF goes over the very thin color wrap....these things are so simple it's cheaper just to paint it especially if not doing hard top.

Prices for wraps are out of control.

You are not getting a quality paint job for $5K unless you go to Maaco where they’ll paint over everything. Your grille, door handles and roof.

Just a warning that even the good wraps will break down fast in years of direct sunlight. I wouldn't plan to have it on longer than 4 years or you will be paying almost the same amount to have it removed without ruining your paint. I've even seen older ppf films do the same.

The early films would begin to discolor after a while. More noticeable on a white car.

The wrap on mine is guaranteed for 10 years with respect to yellowing and breaking down.

If you mean the lower painted portion, yes that was wrapped as well. I don't think they pulled it off, but I'm not certain. They also wrapped the grille and headlights.
