Not what was in my box. You definitely received rivnuts. I received well nuts.
I wonder if they changed to well nuts to protect the paint and prevent the riv nut from spinning/coming loose..

Did you still use the riv nut tool to install?

Wonder what else they changed. And which is better a riv nut or a well nut…

Does it say which M10 well nut you got? Which thread pitch? What length?

No, just thread the bolt and tighten. Problem was that they sent the riv nut bolt, and it was too short to reach the threaded portion of the well nut. Otherwise, very easy to use.

How did you solve the issue? Did you buy another bolt that was longer?

My instructions were relevant to the Riv Nut you received. So I do not have the info you are looking for. Except, M8 was the bolt size that threads into it.

Hmm. That’s odd. They sent you a m8 well nut, but the riv nut is m10

Not really, the well nut is thicker because of the rubber housing, so it’s what fits through and fills the hole and leaves enough room to both thread and collapse the rubber as you tighten without breaking the rubber. The RIV NUT needed to be an M10 to accomplish the same thing.

Well crap. I guess the m10 well nuts I ordered won’t fit then :(

They may…but they may also be too big. I’d either give them a shot, or return and order a kit that has multiple sizes. I’ve seen them on Amazon.
