Here's a better shot of the revised filler neck.

I wonder why they stuck it out so far, because all it does is provide more leverage.

I'm curious if the black seal is actually rubber or just foam to keep dirt out.

I know it's strange thinking but except for it being fragile, I kind of like that it's level because you can fill until you see the fluid in the neck. I always hated the existing bottles that manufacturers use now where you're just pouring it down trying to use that long wonky dipstick thing to keep from overfilling.

This reminds me more of like a reservoir tank where you can just fill it to a line while you're watching.

Mine in my 59 Edsel hangs under the dash between the pedals, you lucky SOB!
Don't want to hijack such an interesting thread on zip ties, but....

My dad bought a new 1958 Edsel Villager from Galpin Edsel in San Fernando, CA. Couple of years ago I moved parents to assisted living. I do believe I found some original Edsel literature and put it in storage. Planning cleaning out storage unit in near future.

If you are interested I can forward what I have as I have no need or interest in it.
