This is the person who it seems a lot have learned from. He had also made a video on creating 4 way air up yourself that is very easy to follow........His Maxi Trac died at the end of the video. It did have exposed wire and he did test it with an external battery pack and mentioned it would fare better connected to 12v only. I plan to use his technique to add psi shutoff like someone in earlier post mentioned and check for frayed wires and re wrap if needed. I definitely would not mount this on my rig!

it fits below deck, just needs a new box made. Time to get busy.

Would love to see more information on what you ended up doing here.. I'm considering a similar solution with my napa compressor. I'm going to do the pressure switch Mod and I was curious if I could mount the sucker back there too.
