Hi guys. I’m new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself and my truck. Its a 2022 Ford Bronco Badlands 2.3 manual. Its the first truck I’ve ever owner. All my life, I’ve driven some kind of sports car/sporty car and as a kid, I never would have dreamed that I’d give up speed for capability, but here I am. I test drove both the auto and manual and liked the latter much more and I bought it. Super easy clutch and pretty snappy power. I found a dealer and while it was marked up, it wasn’t one of the crazy $10k-$30k markups I’d seen floating around. I’ve owned it for about 2 weeks and plan to drive from the Northeast to Colorado in a few days. I’ll be there all summer and want to do TONS of off-roading!

Mine is just a base badlands and I’d like to upgrade it. Has anyone upgraded the base stereo (as it really sucks)? Is there a way to add the B&O sound-system aftermarket? Or is there a stero upgrade kit thats made for the Bronco? Can I keep the water-resistant quality of my truck with an aftermarket sound system? I brought my car to a local shop and they looked at me like I was crazy (I told them wet kayaks and muddy mountain bikes would be put on the subwoofer they wanted to install in the trunk and I’d ford water from time to time). I had booked an install of their parts and cancelled it. Too many unanswered

Eventually, I’d like to upgrade the engine. Maybe a tune (that’s reliable), maybe an exhaust and snorkel, and heated seats for winter. I figured I could get all my answers here and share my mods and adventures! I added the WWII inspired graphic a few days ago.

My grandfather loved Ford Mustangs. He had intended to teach me about cars by working on his 68’ Fastback. He died of cancer when I was 9 years old and never got the chance. In honor of him and the bucking-bronco emblem (similar to a Mustang) I’ve named the car Newt. His name was Newton.

Congrats and welcome!

Stereo - You will see a lot of info on here about the Kicker Key Amps. Work great with the Bronco. As far as water… any electronic will effected by water so just be careful. Put in the search and you will see the fronts and pillars are 4” speakers and the kicker panel is 6.5“. Subwoofers can be in boxes, put on tailgates, or some have bought the B&O sub from Ford just for the enclosure and putting a new sub in it.

Heated Seats - Katzkin can do that and upgrade your seats to some thing customizable.

Good luck and enjoy that bad boy!

The Whipple Tomahawk is a pretty mild tune that will work. I have one on my 2.7 Badlands. I haven't driven a 2.3 with it though.

ohhhhh...... The flying tigers. Had a HD Sportster with that painted on the tank. I dig this.

Wonder how it would look if the mouth went right to the front.

When is the front mounted 30mm hydraulically driven seven barrel Gatling getting installed?

Too bad the graphic couldn't have started at the front door and ended at the front of the fender (making the grille and bumper the mouth), but I applaud the audacity of it all. (y)

Sad story about your Grandpa's best-laid plans for the '68. Just goes to show ya never know, make the best of the time you do have today.
While a very bold move, Cotton, on the Throwback graphic (I have the same style on my Kayak), For me personally I'd almost have to pair that with an Iconic Silver or Carb Grey and airbrush rivet lines everywhere else. Put the stenciled Tail Codes on the back flank...

Glad you had the bravery to do it, awesome the memory and honor tying this in with your Grandpa. If you like it, rock on!

Awesome graphic - I really like the look! As far as stereo - I replaced my base stereo speakers with Kicker 46CSC44 (dash and rear) and Kicker 46CSC674 (kick panel) speakers and added a Sound Ordnance (Crutchfield house brand) B-8PTD 8-inch sub/amp for under the drivers seat. I have about $400 into it and it made a world of difference. At least I can hear it with my old ears on the highway with the top off.

Base Badlands. Most capable out of the box Bronco. Most articulation.

Welcome! I love that graphic, big warbirds fan and reminds me of the flying tigers P-40 Warhawk. Waiting for a good reliable tune also. 👍

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Audio links you might explore:
Kicker Key Amp Install Thread
Upgrade on a Big Bend
Overhaul of B&O System

Heated Seats:
Katzkin

Snorkel:
I couldn't find anything on the forum where someone makes a recommendation. There were a few threads about things people would need to do in addition to a snorkel, but nothing about a particular snorkel recommendation.

Exhaust:
Here's a person who installed a Flowmaster
Here's a huge thread on exhausts with links to multiple products

Hope this helps.
