I recently got back from a fun road trip where I put 2000 miles on my 2023 Big Bend Sasquatch Bronco. Left the Sacramento area, traveled to I-95 in Nevada south to Death Valley (Longstreet Casino and Hotel), then on to Laughlin Nevada, over to Southern California (LA Area) and back to Sacramento.

While in Death Valley, I took the backcountry Titus Canyon, which was amazingly desolate and also very rewarding as I was coming through the end of the canyon to the wide expanse of Death Valley.

Then while in Laughlin, I ventured over to Peach Springs AZ (Route 66) and took the 19-mile backcountry road on Hualapai Nation Land to Diamond Creek Beach on the Colorado River ("southwestern" most part of the Grand Canyon).

Was an amazing trip overall and my rig was awesome!

Bonus - Took a ride on my family's boat on the 67-mile long Lake Mohave to see Old Glory draped across the face of Hoover Dam

Nice trip! Titus Canyon isn't really a offroad challenge, but it's a fun jaunt through cool scenery. It's a one-way road through varied country, ending in a narrow slot canyon where the dry wash is the road.

Sometimes the canyon is closed due to a washout somewhere along the road. When that happens, drive east to the canyon opening (the far west end of the road is two-way), park, and just stroll up the canyon a bit to enjoy it without having to dodge vehicles coming at you.

Sounds like a nice trip. Do you need permission to travel the backcountry road on Hualapai Nation Land?

Yes... you need to get a permit from their Fish and Wildlife Division....$16.95 per person in your vehicle. Also, you have to sign a two page document, one of the rules, no alcohol as it is a dry nation.

Nice pics, love the doggo!
Sounds like a fun trip!
Death Valley is such a beautiful place.

One minor nitpick, however...
You were not on i-95. You were on U.S. Highway (Route) 95. And while that highway does go through multiple states, it is not part of the 'interstate' freeway system which is what the i- designation means. I-95 is the east coast equivalent of I-5, running from Maine down to Florida. (Yes, I'm a highway/freeway roadtrip nerd 🤓 )

Where did you get the Hualapi off road permit, I was trying to find some info online. Do they allow side x sides also or only full size vehicles?

The Fish and Game Department is in a building right on Hwy 66 about 50 yards west of the Post Office. Yes, it looks abandoned, but it isn’t. When I was there last Fall, the permit would only be issued to plated and insured road going vehicles. No ATV, UTV or motorcycles (even road legal) allowed on the road. It is patrolled and expect to be asked to see your “Permit to Trespass”. Well worth the drive and we had a good lunch at the Lodge across the highway.

When we were there a month go or so on a Saturday, the office was closed. The ranger was patrolling the road and we just purchased from him.
