Bestop Sunrider Wind Noise

Anyone have the best top sunrider? I installed one on my two door and the wind noise at 70 is unbearable. I tried adjusting the top forward as much as possible, and it's still extremely loud. It's almost like it isn't close enough to the header and wind gets in between the soft top and the weatherstrip on the header. Love the idea of the thing, but would not be able to tolerate the noise level.

Wow, I have been looking at this so much and ready to pull the triger. But if what you say is true that is a no go!!!!!

I heard a while back this thing was delayed due to wind noise. Same thing with rigid light bar. Sounds like they didn’t figure it out, like the rigid light bar.

Not saying you should have to do this, but maybe some very thin soft rubber weatherstripping stuck to each side will give a tighter seal.

@Gloff Sean, looking at the install manual, the header for the sunrider and the fastback top should be the same. I need to stop over at yoru shop and order some parts, let me know when you will be there and I'll stop by. We can compare your top to mine and hopefully see where any issues are.

Update, I think it just doesn't clamp down enough comparing the factory soft top (1st pic) to the sunrider (2nd). The secondary seal on the inside barely contacts the top.

Have you reached out to Bestop customer support?

I have one sitting in the box; haven't got around to installing it yet. I recall seeing a number of threads on the Sunrider top but can't recall hearing others having this issue. Going to go find those.

Because I work at the dealership, I have driven the soft top many times, it's quieter than this thing by a wide margin.

@The Beaz stopped by and we drove his Bestop two door soft top, and the wind noise was absolutely minimal with effectively the same header panel, so I'm gonna fiddle with it some more and see if I can get it to seal better.

Also going to contact Bestop; the wind noise is... loud.
Ford is going to replace the front seal above the windshield next week since I had a leak with the original hardtop and now the sunrider. -- Going to try and make adjustments thereafter.
Encouraging to see the full top has a similar panel and is quiet(er) as expected.

Thats dissapointing, I have one on my Jeep and LOVE it, it's certainly not loud in any way thats a bother. I guess I'll cancel that order and wait.
