Mine have started rusting as well. What’s worse is that I bought them new in the box from a fellow b6g member. IAG refused to cover them under warranty as I wasn’t the original purchaser. 4K miles on the bronco, 3k on the steps.
I was close to going with the AR steps but preferred the rugged look of IAG. Obviously a big mistake.

Update:
After reading this post IAG customer service reached out to me and they are replacing the steps. I concur with others that their customer service is excellent even though there have been some quality control issues.

One Minnesota winter and mine look terrible. Chipped and rusty like photos above.

If you buy cheap Chinese made parts this is what happens unfortunately. Stick with steel made from other better countries and the outcome will be better. IAG has gone almost fully outsourced to cheap Chinese parts and it's showing by these numerous threads.

Wisconsin must use superior salt

Pics of first set.
Removed and replaced after about 4 months

The replacement set is starting to do the same.
New set is looking better but starting to rust through the finish.

Yes, the customer service is good 👍
But, the product is not.

I agree with the previous post about the quality of the steel.

New set will end up in the recycle bin when I get the R.S.E. steps installed.

Oh my God!!!

If I've got that to look forward to then it's probably just a waste of time to get them replaced and have the same happen again...

Interesting. I’ve had mine for about 9-months and they’re in perfect condition. DC metro area. Wash Bronco about every 10-days on average. Been off-roading 4-times.

My new set doesn't look as bad as the first set but they are looking the same as the first set did when it started

That’s because Wisconsin uses brine which is basically liquid rust promoter.

These are not made in China.

Their Chinese manufactured stuff is the "I line" stuff listed on their website. They have been transparent about it.

I have the iag hood struts and steps. Hood struts after a year are essentially still brand new.
I noticed rust yesterday on my step, after 1 winter mostly garaged.

I might por15 the steps.

Edit. I said por15, but I would use Rust Bullet instead. I've used it before and it's pretty amazing

I have my steps still in the box waiting for my Bronco to finally arrive. IAG should have done better with the quality of the powder coat. I was happy to get them, I hope they don't disappoint!

I live 5 miles from the beach and have had them on for 9 months, no rusting or anything that others are saying. Must be the salt and whatever else they mix in with it.
