The C8 Vette was arguably an even higher profile launch facing the same issues. When the model year rolled, they swapped out 3-4 colors and rearranged a bunch of options and packages. Those buyers still had to choose from what was now available. It's the industry norm. Doesn't matter if it's a Bronco, Vette or a more mainstream vehicle like an F150 your previous order goes away and you deal with what the new year brings if you get caught in the in-between.I can appreciate that you feel every manufacturer operates this way - HOWEVER, in this particular instance, covid, re-launch of an iconic vehicle, unprecedented demand, constraints, delays etc. AND the fact that Farley says he wants to move to an on-demand build model. The approach taken by @Ford Motor Company is entirely UNACCEPTABLE and an will become the butt of business school jokes and business case reviews.
