I can appreciate that you feel every manufacturer operates this way - HOWEVER, in this particular instance, covid, re-launch of an iconic vehicle, unprecedented demand, constraints, delays etc. AND the fact that Farley says he wants to move to an on-demand build model. The approach taken by @Ford Motor Company is entirely UNACCEPTABLE and an will become the butt of business school jokes and business case reviews.

The C8 Vette was arguably an even higher profile launch facing the same issues. When the model year rolled, they swapped out 3-4 colors and rearranged a bunch of options and packages. Those buyers still had to choose from what was now available. It's the industry norm. Doesn't matter if it's a Bronco, Vette or a more mainstream vehicle like an F150 your previous order goes away and you deal with what the new year brings if you get caught in the in-between.

Considering the number of persons who got bumped to MY22, a case could be made for Ford keeping their colors around. In the end though, Ford can do what it wants for the new model year, and people can decide to buy or not.

With no more red on the base, I choose to spend this weekend working on my old (red) Land Rover. If Ford significantly increases the price of MY22 base Bronco, that would probably seal my decision.

The take rate on iconic silver was far lower.

that blows that debate that the masses don't want it., and the low one has to go.

ford will never tell you the real reason they got rid of it. but i'm sure the cost of the pigments played a role.

it took me months to arrive at and embrace AMB and now i don't really have a back up that i can dig my teeth into.

Does it look sort of black? Yes but with much more depth and with that dark blue showing through. Seeing pics in the full sun and it sparkles. I am having a hard time losing this color for my build. I am also tired of people saying it was such a low take rate. so expendable. Follow all the AMB threads. This color definitely had its compassionate fans and they outnumber many colors still available.

Even in the darkest of skies with the rain pouring from the heavens ... I can still see blue.
