So I was feeling pretty antsy about my 6/29 soft top build that has been “in production” for months, so I decided to make the rounds with Ford and my dealer to see what the hold up was. Eventually, my dealer told me that they talked to their rep who confirmed QC issues with the soft top, and that the earliest I could expect delivery would be November. Super…
I guess she could sense my disappointment because she called her rep back and arranged for me to swap out my scheduled build for their incoming second mannequin unit that’s being delivered next week (original was 4dr, base, velocity blue, soft top; mannequin is 4dr, big bend, antimatter blue, soft top)!
She also told me two things: (a) ford is going to start letting dealers swap out their 2nd mannequins with existing res holders if thats what they want, and (b) ford is working on some kind of “apology” for their delayed build customers that’s yet to be announced. I can’t confirm anything past that, just repeating what my dealer told me today.
Regardless, I couldn’t be more stoked about getting a bronco within the next couple days instead of the next couple months! Shout out to Freedom Ford in Greenville, TX for the hook up. Been doing business with them for years and can’t recommend them enough! May not be graduating with my original build but I’m leaving Dirt Mountain one way or the other!
