I've done it a handful of times, with a DIY cargo floor leveling platform. Works especially well during winter camping, as I still need to get my heated tent setup dialed in.

Surprisingly decent in the rear area when you get settled in.

So I was going round and round thinking about adding a rack (no small undertaking for a 2dr soft top) and getting a RTT but there are too many downsides. So I ended up with a double cot tent for the wife and I. Was thinking about getting a Meraki hammock for the boy to sleep in the Bronco. He's short though so I think he would fit on the floor with just the back seat down.

Well, I have proven those naysayers wrong.
Anyone else camp in their 2 door?

To be fair to the naysayers, I think most of those folks are over 6’ tall. There is sbsolutely no way I can fit or sleep in the back of a 2 door, not even comfortable in a 4 door….regardless of angle or slope I try to sleep.

Awesome for those that can though!!

Tall people? Hell, I barely fit to sleep in my 4dr.
Yay. Being short finally has it advantages.

I agree, 5'10" here and I'm really maxing out every last millimeter haha.

With the seats down you will need to place wood down with a wedge below it for support and level it, and some cushion to lay on top to sleep one it. That will provide true comfort.

Looks like there would be enough room.

I know from long-ago experience, being 71" tall and sleeping in a 73" truck bed was a tight fit. It's not fully comfortable unless you can get a little bit of angle. Otherwise you're getting your feet on cold metal or bumping your head from time to time in your sleep because you can't stay exactly centered in the space all night.

My recommendation for people wanting to camp in their capped pickup bed is to get a spray-in bedliner which makes it a lot more habitable. That's what I had in my T100, along with a little more length that made a big difference for me.

At least with a Bronco the seatback isn't cold, hard metal. In my case the sleeping space in a 4-door won't be a problem since I now need to sleep on my side for medical reasons. That means I take up less space lengthwise than I used to. YMMV.
