So, I got a cracked windshield. I called insurance, no problems. It was a free replacement. Yada Yada.
I asked the Installation company if they needed the Bronco at their shop to calibrate all the gizmos. She said, "No, we send a second person with the calibration tools."
I asked if I would get Ford Glass, and they said yes and would ensure it. Awesome!
Wednesday, the guy showed up, and I verified he had Ford glass and asked him when the second person came to calibrate. He told me he does it all. I said great. He tells me, "Look, it will take me 40 minutes so, you can go inside. (Hmmm, first clue). He never asked for my ignition key. I figured he did not like spectators, so I went inside.
I'm parking my Bronco in the garage today, and I get a warning. (The front sensor is blocked. See owner manual)

Questions:

1) Can you calibrate all the gismos in the windshield without the ignition key?
2) Is there a part number on the new windshield I can check to see if this is indeed the correct one?

It is a 2023 Wildtrack with the Lux package. So all the gismos are included.

If it fits it’s the right windshield.

As far as cal - when I had mine done the guy had to drive it down the road. If it can be done without that I can’t aay

Yep, same experience. I had it replaced at a shop and they used a big target-board in front to calibrate with the Bronco either running or in accy mode, and then took it for a test drive.

Any body with a Wild trak and Lux package please send me a pick with the model number? It's on the pasenger side of the windshied. Could you also take a pick of the center top?

It would likely give you a different warning message if the IPMA calibration wasn’t done. Send me your VIN and I can probably give you a better idea for the warning.

There’s only one factory windshield for the Bronco. Model and options make no difference.

It sure does, but I think that is referring to the removable cap to bolt stuff to.

I have had my windshield replacex twice, would not allow them to calibrate it, but it was unnecessary to re-calibrate it (yes, everything works as it did before). FWIW, I have all the software needed to recalibrate it and would have done so, if needed...

Yeah it’s required from Ford mainly as a verification to make sure it’s still calibrated correctly since it controls the safety related pre-collision braking.
Not so much a necessity in a lot of cases, unless there was a collision.

I also didn’t recalibrate mine after replacement and it’s been perfectly fine.

Yes but it is written on the windshield glass . If not a Ford glass it would not have that.
