Honestly - Rough Country. They came with the original lift I had. I’ve upgraded the suspension and lift since, but no reason to move from the UCAs - they have done ok and I’m running around 3” of lift on them now.

That said - I don’t wheel nearly as hard as some around here.

I have RPG but that was due to the heims to get as much strength as possible. If they need adjustment, you gotta pull them completely off the vehicle. They’ve been solid so far with some pretty aggressive drivethrough use, but if you don’t need that extra 10% strength or whatever it is there are better options. The Rock Krawler billet UCA is pretty rad and would be much more comfortable than what we have. They’re also going to have more misalignment available in the ball joint if they don’t already.

APG. They have double adjusters on them and in theory can be charged without taking them off the bronco….mine are the +3.5” version but they make a stock length version.

Procomp got on closeout sale…replaced the zone ones from my original lift for no good reason other than I liked the looks of the procomps better and maybe alittle lighter…zones maybe better quality?

I will be using the Icon tubular UCA’s. I plan to go to a truer 35” from the factory Goodyears, so I don’t feel the need for the ability to make adjustments at the UCA. I expect the dual stage bushings will feel better than spherical bearings for mostly pavement miles…if you do a lot of off-roading or serious off-roading, then you probably want the spherical bearings.. I have Uniballs on my FJ, I don’t need more squeaking…I’ve only heard good things about the delta joint pro.

BDS, because I figured they were plausibly developed alongside Fox’s shocks. They’ve been good so far.

The oem kinematics of the front control arms results in the following plots. Most struts will fall between these limits.

first plot is with oem SAS struts: 17.06” and 23.31” compressed and extended lengths.

second plot is for RK struts (which offer the most travel I have come across): 17.5” and 24.5”.

for UCA, the max ball joint angle occurs at full rebound, and only varies from 125 to 140 degrees. Upper ball joint should be designed to handle at least 150 degrees.

The decisions on ball joint mostly depend on strength, ride quality, noise, maintenance, serviceability. Some of these factors are at odds with each other.

perhaps most importantly the ability to dial in the kingpin axis for alignment, which depends completely on location of ball joint and your ride height. It is important to know what lift height the uca was designed for and what your ride height lift is.

Or just choose based on color.

Does the color matter if one is already going to need to repaint them due to taking a flap disk to the piece for removal of laser etched branding?

I am running Solo Motorsport's UCA. I installed them together with Kings 2.5 and definitely felt the ride difference but not sure how much had to do with the shocks and UCA.

I'm running the Zone's that came with my Eibach package. They're pretty beefy.

JBA High Caster Control Arms. Greaseable pivots and ball joints. Don’t have to loosen control arm bolt to grease bushings. Highest articulating ball joint and can be replaced on the vehicle without press. Biggest difference is the added caster and tire stays more planted and less wheel lifting along with stiffer feel. Steering goes to center quick even on the trail in 4 low on rocks. The bad, install sucks and super hard to get on shock towers.
