I owned 3 BIIs, loved them. Didn't realize they would look so small next to a 6g. I just put 235 x15 tires on mine and they were remarkably capable. And of course I must take every opportunity to post a pic of my "86 in 1989 with stock tires on Pritchett Canyon in Moab, one of the roughest trails there. I took it downhill gravity was in my favor

Yeah, it was there when I got there, lucky me as I had no plan if I couldn't make it at any point. I had just looked a map and thought "This looks interesting. " Solo, and never saw another soul.

This was my 88 Eddie Bauer edition with a 5-speed and bigger tires. It was a cool and good-looking little SUV. But it was dangerously easy to roll it with its dual I-beam front suspension.

I had an 89 Bii owned it for over 20 years. Loved it

I too experienced my own Transmission issues with the 5 speed (I was on my 3rd when I sold it) the last one i did a core swap/rebuild with Midwest transmission.

On the 2.9 I rebuilt the short block once and did the long block twice. I was on the second rear end and many different sets of tires, plug wires, drive shaft U joints etc.

She was very close to 300,000 miles when I sold it.

I loved the simplicity of it. I could park it anywhere and it was very simple mechanically. It just worked. Locking hubs manual 4 low/high/ neutral.

I was having issues with the roof/window seals leaking etc. Got the G6 Bronco as replacement.

I still miss my Bii every day. I named her Fury from that Brad Pitt WW2 movie after the tank that just kept going.

The BII just has that rad 80s look to it. Love em, even if they are shiteboxes.

Just got back from a two-day road trip. First Bronco I saw was a 1g, and I also saw a Bronco II.
