Recently got back from a 2600 mile road trip driving from North Dallas visiting Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Timed it around Super Celebration East. Always amazed at how beautiful our country is. Here are some of the highlights:
  • 3 National Parks- Mammoth Cave, New River Gorge, Great Smokey Mountains (brings my total in Bronco to 15)
  • Awesome experiences in or between destinations- Cave tour, Sky Bridge in Kentucky, Endless Wall in New River Gorge NP, Bridge Walk in New River Gorge NP, Asheville breweries, Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock State Park in NC, seeing 10 bears in Great Smokey Mountains NP, Ozone Falls in TN, and climbing to top of Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock.
  • Super Celebration East- So cool to see a LOT of old and new Broncos everywhere you went.
  • Off-roading all day to Trail 51 (Panther Rock) in Windrock Park.
  • Enjoying live music in Memphis and Nashville
Here is map of loop I made once I got to Nashville:

This is exactly my idea of a perfect road trip. I suppose the west can is beautiful in a brown, barren, desolate sort of way, but the Appalachian range is green, lush and alive - with far more history. Just the SMELL alone in the mountains is worth the trip! The caves, the haunted places, the legends... that trips my trigger, and where I was last year in my Bronco.

What a great trip. I looked at your pics and videos and found myself biting my nails watching the off-road portion, lol! Thank you for sharing!! As a WV resident, I am partial to the New River Gorge area.

NRG is a beautiful area. Only spent an afternoon, evening, and morning there. Met some awesome locals at bar and want to go back for bridge day. Sounds crazy but cool at the same time. Catapulting people off the bridge! :cwl:

The next time you're in the NRG area I definitely recommend a pit stop at a place called Pies and Pints. Some of the best pizza I have ever had in my life, and the beer is pretty damned good too. I make sure to stop in there every time I'm up that way.

Great pics and a great trip! Glad Chimney Rock is back open after Helene, that area was totally devastated. Hopefully heading that way soon.

Area was still under construction with one-lane roads here and there where road was washed out. Crazy to see the destruction that was caused.

We were there 5 months before Helene came through and it was humbling to see what Mother Nature can do.

Loved Ozone Falls when I went. The ex and I went to Red River Gorge last year. We also hit Nada Tunnel.
