Hello folk, yet another exhaust question.
Kind of at an impasse between the Corsa catback turndown vs Borla climber catback exhaust system.
Notes for both sound good, Corsa (technological advantage, zero drone, good sound) seems to be the majority favorite among those on the forum, with Borla (slightly better clearance, OEM+, 200$ cheaper) not far behind.
Anyone who has experienced both can shed a light? Or is this a "can't go wrong" situation, want to take advantage of the upcoming Memorial Day sales from some retailers here.

Would appreciate less "A V6 will never sound good don't bother getting anything" and more "hey I've heard both in person and blah blah blah"

Thanks!

Can’t speak for both, but overall very happy with the Corsa on my 2.7l

It sounds pretty good, I think a bit better from the outside than inside but definitely agree there is no drone, to me at least.

The AWE on my tuned Audi S5 sounds so damn good, Bronco cannot compare, but overall love the Corsa on the Bronco.

Another thing, love ditching that giant stock muffler with the Corsa (not sure about Borla), makes it so much easier to do other work like like installing adjustable track bar and relocation bracket, dv8 cargo box, rear bumper and running lighting wiring etc.

Are you looking at the Borla Climber with the resonator at the end, that would probably make it a little quieter vs no resonator?

I was looking at the climber with S-type. Sounds better without being too overwhelming to me. The touring type with resonator in the back doesn’t sound different enough from stock to justify the spending to me

Yea I believe both borla and corsa are the same way with a straight structure with front mount muffler and ends slightly behind the axle on driver side. Freeing up much space in the stock muffler area.
I have considered AWE but I have seen some people report some drone on it, whereas corsa and borla has zero people complain about drone.
I believe corsa is typical the fav around here, I just wanted to see if it’s worth the 200$ over borla

I actually just installed the Corsa Turndown on my 2.7 sounds AMAZING... No drone whatsoever loud on cold start, nice subtle rumble when warm. loud when you step on it. doesn't sound like a ricer v6 sounds deep and refined.
cant speak much on the Borla but my buddy had one on his bronco and just ordered the corsa after hearing mine so I'll leave that with you.

at the end of the day to each their own. if you prefer the Borla get the Borla. but if you have a chance to go to a meet up and hear a few exhaust options in person that's what I would do for sure.

I know you asked about corsa and borla - BUT here is a little cold start of my Roush axle back. Not too loud. Nice little rumble compared to stock.

(Previous ride was a 5.3 Chevy with long tubes, cam, and borla pro xs. Nowhere near that kind of drone with this setup 😅)

I have the Corsa and liked it but a little raspy for my taste when WOT. I installed a Vibrant resonator before the muffler and now love the setup. People can notice I have an exhaust but it’s much more tame now.

I have the Borla Climber catback stype. Great sounding exhaust. My biggest concern on the 2 door is the muffler is supper close to the drive shaft and brake lines. Has not hit or anything and doesnt move. I emailed Borla and that was their overall design goal to maximize size but keep it within spec without hitting the driveshaft or brake line. I have considering swapping it out just because of paranoia but its been fine and no issues countless miles offroading.

Could hit that corner of the muffler with a flap wheel real quick to smooth out that edge. That way instead of a gouge or scratching into the drive shaft or brake line it would just be a softer scrape. Would also gain another 1/8 of clearance. 😁 Just make sure not to overdo it.

Dosent Borla make the exahust for Roush? I know a bunch of the ford preformance exahusts are Borla.

OP, I am quite happy with my Borla Climber touring set up. no drone, more sound without being obnoxious.

Cold start and idle will sound great from most all the aftermarket exhausts. Most all of them will also make the less-liked raspy V6 sound at WoT. Lethal performance has videos for idle and WoT for most all the popular exhausts out there. It’s really going to come down to your subjective preference.

We tested quite a few exhausts here at Lethal on my 2021 Bronco and they all sounded great but ultimately I kept the Corsa turndown, both for sound (not obnoxious, great one) and for the clearance/looks. I was not wanting tips showing.

I think you'll be happy with either choice.

We do have some clips here: https://www.lethalperformance.com/bronco-exhaust-guide

And if you have any questions just let us/me know. I'm not in sales but I know a guy LOL.
