I would pay more than current asking price for accurate gas gauge.

Thanks for that. Good information. Unfortunately, it seems inconsistent with prior reports from owners here in this thread that both the full side level AND empty side are both extremely inaccurate.

I once ran out of fuel in my 77 CJ, the gauge was busted so I guessed on calculations and most likely lost track LOL.

Thanks for this update. I am interested in the tank and may try to work on this next month when I have some vacation time.

The DTE is a bit of a Grey area. Here's what I know...

I've been having a wiring issue for a long time with the OEM fuel gauge. Sometimes it worked Sometimes it didn't. When I was doing my V8 swap, I did NOT want the PCM to think it was out of fuel ... yes it ( v8 PCM) goes into limp mode if it thinks there's not enough fuel...so as a temporary fix I used just the potentiometer fuel sender from another ford guage and wired it directly i to the fuel guage wires, set it under the hood , then it showed about 1/2 tank and everything was happy, sorta.
After a few months of carrying Jerry cans with me, because the guage was "stuck" in this static position, I finally dropped the tank recently and installed a brand new OEM bronco fuel sender (and disconnected the dummy one) routed new sender wires and its all fixed! Guage works perfectly and shows ACCURATE fuel levels now FINALLY!!!

We'll NOT SO FAST...

now the DTE is WAY way off...like 500 miles off. How can this be??? Here's my hypothesis. The DTE is actually a logarithmic average based on many many drive cycles, as each time I drive it now it seems to learn a tad bit more information (speeds, fuel level, fuel use per mile ect..) and the inaccuracies are shrinking daily with each drive. It's slowly" learning ' and becoming more accurate. So it seems that when I had the dummy sender wired in static, this threw off the algorithm dramatically and caused it to "learn" the bronco was getting hundreds of miles per gallon ( because the dummy sender never moved)... and the BCM saved this information and uses it in the algorithm.

So, with a new oversized tank I wouldn't a be bit surprised if the DTE slowly fixes itself over time.

I would.

After tuning or a battery unplug, we will see an immediate DTE inaccuracy, typically way too large. As you note, it adjusts, likely taking a slew of things into account including fuel and driving style to hone in to an accurate number.

However, this is all predicated on the sender doing everything as expected, specfically, topping out when full, bottoming out when empty and having the same shape as the factory tank. Without these it just can't accurately correct itself. And again, from the various user reports, the tank does not seem to have these basic requirements.

This all said, I also completely agree with all of your observation and reasoning in your post, just not the expectation I discuss above.

My observation is the functional range of the float and the potentiometer stops are slightly beyond the tanks empty and (especially) full range in OEM form...try taking the pump/ sender out and see for yourself.

The empty position is not zero exactly on the potentiometer range...and more likely, its some saved data position near zero the PCM and or BCM use to consider it "empty ". At least on the 2 dr its that way.

You need to educate yourself on the global supply chain instead of pooh poohing other forum members willingness to invest in new products to market.
Did you educate yourself on whether this product actually works as intended before your post above?

Maybe you should post this part on Page 1.
If you took the time to look into the product, especially the one I installed in my bronco.. this is in the product description, which I was perfectly ok with .

Note on Low-Fuel Display:
The warning threshold is calibrated to the original tank capacity. When the warning light illuminates, the gauge may read near empty while a substantial fuel reserve remains. With the increased 115L capacity, approximately 100 km of driving range is typically available after the warning appears.

I’m not seeing a problem with the tank. It holds more fuel. DTE is self adjusting over time. Need to get fuel level figured out or just treat it like the old school count your miles and fill up.
