Is there a trick to getting the hose down the dipstick tube? With my extractor, only the very smallest hose will fit down the tube, and seems like it would take hours to suck 6 qt up and out. The next size up seems too big to get more than a few inches down the tube.
Just jam it in there until you hit the pan. No trick. I warm up the oil to make it thinner. I let it drain while I remove the filter.

These days, depending on where you live, that’s reasonable as dealers go. If you do full synthetic with 5-tire rotation, $140-$160 is typical at dealers in Northern VA. Everything is more expensive here.

They give you a long list of “free” checks & inspections they are doing at the same time. Whether they actually do it all is hard to know.
The Bronco's presently free at Ted Britt in Chantilly because I bought it there. I just had the Mustang done last week while I was getting some other things fixed, and it was 103. I believe they actually do the extra checks, my license plate light was out haha

Ted Britt isn’t where I bought it , but I did my first oil change and 5-tire rotation there less than a month after I bought it.

huh, weird. I got free service as part of the deal. Maybe the Mustang gets some sort of discount through their Ted Britt for life program? The other dealers around here I have been to have annoyed me for various reasons. The only one I think I have not tried is Ourisman. The 50.00 charge was a mistake as well, that one was supposed to be covered under my tire plan.

Did you buy a maintenance plan? I bought the PremiumCARE extended service plan (warranty) but not the maintenance. I was supposed to get 3 “free” oil changes from the dealer I bought it from, but they are an hour from where I live and it was only free for synthetic blend, not full synthetic.

Ted Britt was 5 minutes from my office at the time so I went there for several things. They gave me free Ubers to my office each time. When I went back to my purchase dealer for later oil changes and warranty work, they just discounted the full synthetic oil changes instead of a free blended one. I did oil changes at 1647 miles, 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k so I’ve used up my discounts. I’m coming up on 25k within a week or two. We did a lot of road trips the first year but don’t plan on continuing that pace.

Honestly, I can't remember. Probably. I know they did sell me some crap that wasn't what I thought (paint protector) that I wish I hadn't paid for. Sounds like your office is in the same area as mine; when I am out there I am right off Westfields blvd. When I was working out there every day, it was super convenient. I'd drop the car off while I was at work for service, and pick it up when it was complete.

Now, I work from home most days, and commuting out there from Mt Vernon's a lot less convenient. Sheehy pissed me off though, and there was another one up on Little River Turnpike (I think they changed their name lol) that flat out ripped me off. I went to Ted Britt in desperation to fix a problem that the LRTP dealer took 700 to NOT fix. I was pretty convinced my rear diff was toast and was expecting to bend over big time, and they squared me away with some anti-friction compound. I got out of it for a lot less than I expected, so I go out there to get my service done now. They could have given be a major screwing and chose not to.

April Wine?! Tell me your Canadian, without telling me your Canadian, lol. From the same era but opposite ends of the country, throw on some Prism, specifically Armageddon and see if you can get the oil change done between the opening sounds of the jets scrambling and the closing notes. 😆 If you need more time, throw on Rush's 2112. It doesn't get much longer than that.

On the USA side, Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Don Mclean's American Pie come to mind as lengthy tunes.
Don`t forget some Trooper,Loverboy and Doug and the Slugs !

An extractor changes the game on these oil changes, no more messy spill with the huge oil plug.
And not having to pull the skid plate. 👍
What brand of oil extractor are you using?

It's the 10-20% of old oil they can not remove that concerns me with the use! It's far more important for me to get as much dirty oil out!
