I was looking to build a floating style of box when I stumbled upon Fox Acoustics. It was exactly as I envisioned with the added Bronco logo engraving. Its quality is fantastic. I have my full floor available with somewhere around 18-20 inches of space underneath. I installed speaker grills just in case, and you could add something to the top of the box as well. They show images of railing around the top to tie things down to. So it’s pretty functional. My only complaints are that the seats only lock in the more upright position and that when switching from my hard top to soft top for the summer I had to first remove the box and with the soft top the hardware interferes a bit with the soft top seal leaving a small area for a potential leak. Yet a brushless carwash did not produce a leak. As far as sound. I prefer sealed box performance. But for a ported enclosure it absolutely pounds. I chose the 10 inch variety because the 12in covers the hard top wiring/washer blanks in the drivers panel. I plan to install a wind break on top of the box for better wind control with the top down. This is not your “I just bought a new loaded luxury car with a powered sub”, It is more I can compete in SPL contests. It’s ridiculous Lol. In summation I would not have invested in this system without this box or one of similar design. How do you feel about what the Fox Box ported enclosure did to the rear space?
Acquaintance in our group added similar one to his Jeep. Wired it as a quick disconnect so he can take it out when he off-roads. He loves the bass amplification when it is in and the rear is clear, but it eats up a big space.
I know it is a preferences trade off.
The Bronco bass delivery vs mounting option vs cargo space in the Bronco is discouraging.
