Long story short I live in upstate NY so our summers have more rain than most places rainy season (I’m originally from CA) I love having my top off for the summer, but I do not have the luxury of owning an easy way to take the top on and off by myself so I have a “weatherproof” top I purchased that I have found to work better than the others I’ve owned for when the top is off. However if we have a sustained rain event, the water will pool and leak through the cover. Does anyone have suggestions on a product to help prevent this from happening?

Not sure what top you own. Old canvas stuff you used to oil or wax it to make it more water resistant. Not sure what your top is made out of though. If water is pooling, you need to figure out a way to stop it from pooling up - which is harder than it sounds really with any sort of tarp top.

The standard Soft Top hasn't needed anything in my experience, but I don't go through a lot of torrential downpours with it either. That may be an option - picking up a soft top on the Marketplace or something, they tend to go fairly cheaply second hand (even never used)... and you can just roll it up when the rain comes in.
