can't wait for Ford to come out with the V8 Bronco that 90% of you can't afford.
There's a big difference between Can't Afford and Not Willing to Pay that much.

There's no reason why a V8 can't be a simple $3k upgrade. Not like we are asking for a built V8 with 700 hp. Standard V8 that they drop in the F-150's. They can do it for an XLT, so why not a Bronco?

I'd like to think thatd be how it'd go but they literally charge like 100K for a V6 Raptor

I agree, we both know that Ford would go the $100k plus route just because Jeep does it with the 392. They'd rather make an extra $40k off 10 people a year, versus an extra $3k off of 20k+ people a year. Look at it this way, many people in year 1 were buying the Badlands & Wildtrak because well... most expensive, must be the best. Me, I like my truck to do what I need, and what I have does just that. But I'd still jump all over a V8 if the price were right.

Jeep lowered the 392 to $70K this year.

Probably because they are losing sales..

Me personally, I'm not buying a $70k Bronco, waste of money for me. Sadly, Ford doesn't even allow the 2.7l until you get to a Badlands? Or was it the OBX? Either way, if they made it an engine upgrade from the Base on up they'd sell a TON of them. But we all know Ford doesn't do what we want.

While I love the sweet exhaust note a V8 can provide and am an older guy, so the whole V8 thing is immensely appealing, more bang-for-the-buck would be a straight 6.
Like Mopar is doing, looking at the Hurricane straight 6 dual turbo engines replacing their "Now longer in the tooth" Hemi V8 in the future.
More (available and easily achieved) torque and HP, much smoother and harmonic piston setup for moar RPMs at smoother delivery.
But they just never will sound as dang good as a V8.

We’ll see what GM does with the new V8s getting ready to drop. Rumors in the GM circles are that they are dropping the BS cylinder deactivation crap. Not sure but with the Trump admin loosening the EPA regulations they might be able to make a reliable V8 again.
While obviously eliminating cylinder deactivation will improve reliability, the current GM V8 issue is they changed how they machine the rear crankshaft bearing channel. They removed a step to reduce manufacture time, and now the rear main bearing gets oil starved.

When the bronco raptor first came out the program manger stated that the 3.5 didn't fit properly and they didn't like the torque curv of the 5.0 vs the 3.0

personally I still wish they would of offered the 5.0 anyway.....

Slap a supercharger on it. My Roush Stage 3 Mustang has the 5.0 with the 2.3L supercharger on it. Instant torque! 727 hp and it pulls strong. It's actually quite intoxicating.

LOL.

Funniest thing to me is that we hear a lot of folks complaining about No V8, Frameless Windows and BOF with a fixed roof, yet none of them would even consider the current Tahoe or Yukon, which are the direct descendants of the K5 Blazer...
The Tahoe/Yukon is enormous and has a really low clearance IRS, I wouldn't consider those the same vehicle class as the Bronco at all.

Still three years away, anything can happen but definitely going after the Bronco. I hope it offers a fixed roof option I would be interested. I like my Bronco but not the compromises that come from having a removable roof and frameless windows.
What compromises?
Just say NO! To GM products..... 😒
GM has been pretty
Issue is they are late to the party! Fuel prices, interest rates and inflation make this a bad time to roll out a new gas guzzler. Bronco hit the market at the perfect time and these other companies have missed the timing.
nah folks are still buying all the time and gas is gas it always fluctuates
The gen 1 Bronco has cool lines. Which the 6 the gen shares. The GM never looked good. So either the new one will not look good or it will not take its styling from the old one. Bronco is still the winner.
shoot 70’s and 80’s jimmys were beautiful man. Looked better than the broncos

Neither would I, I wouldn't consider anything that you can't take the top or doors off of as the same class either.

But they aren't much bigger than a Braptor, Lift kits are available for them, as are a lot of other aftermarket parts, and they do check all the boxes the people I mention are asking for. They are well optioned if comparing to a Braptor at the same price too.

I wouldn't buy one, but I wouldn't buy a Braptor either for my use.
