Hmmm... Always suspicious when something happens after recent service.
Here is video of noise. Note on screen dialog box is from opening hood. At end of video, dog starting yappin'....heehee...

Why did you stop recording when the sound started? Or did I miss something?

It sounds louder when outside the car, but yeah, that's the sound.

Hiya, I got car back a little while ago. It looks like they were about to replace the thermostat Then the mechanic noticed that the drive belt came off and the tensioner was bad. Got both replaced, and now it seems to run ok.

Oops, just re-read this. The sound happens during the whole recording. It didn't sound like that before. The dog starts yelping just at the end. :)

That’ll do it if you heard a noise like that, a bad tensioner will make some awful noise

What was the sound like?

Did you check to see if your coolant level was lower than normal or did your dealer? I think some broncos brand new get filled up to the correct amount from the factory but only after some driving, the air pockets truly go away and decreases the amount of coolant that is actually in the engine and reservoir. Just my theory since it cannot be explained by me or my dealer. I noticed my coolant was almost under the minimum line when I took my bronco in for an oil change at 7,000 miles. The dealer filled it up no problem and checked for leaks with none found. They only advised me to keep my eye on it. Well I never kept my eye on it. I only remembered to check my coolant again at 15,000 miles since it was due up for service and the coolant looks to be stabilized and haven't lost much or any since then.

Was the bridge you were going across at an angle or anything? It could explain it if it was tilting and lowered your already low coolant level and then gave you the scare.
Good advice, the cooling systems are difficult to purge of all air and can cycle a bubble of air for a long time in different locations. Had an 83 EXP Inline 4 that ran well but had an air bubble in the cooling system. Found out on a cool morning when I tried to defrost the windshield, as the air coming out was not warm and the engine temp was rising quickly. I shut down and ignored it until I started it up to go home a bit later. Everything worked fine until about a week later when I lost all power. Turns out the water pump was where the air bubble finally ended the valve train due to interference when the failed water pump stripped the cam belt and the valves and pistons turned into a mess. My warranty covered it but Ford replaced the head with a non-interference profile valvetrain and cam and significant loss of power. You have to watch that coolant level carefully.

Good thing is it's now in your vehicle's maintenance history, in case something similar crops-up later down the road. Glad they got 'er fixed & back on the road. :D
