What Did It Feel Like When You First Got Your Bronco?

A lot of us spend months researching trims, comparing options, buying accessories, and dreaming about future adventures before we ever get the keys.

Then one day, it's finally sitting in your driveway.

I think most of us found just about any excuse to go for a drive during those first few weeks lol. There was just something special about that first drive.

No matter how many times I've driven it since, that feeling of driving it for the first time is still one of the memories that sticks with me the most.

First few weeks?? I took delivery on 8/10/21 and I’m still looking for excuses to go for a drive every day. In all fairness, I did get a V6 two door in antimatter blue, though, so it makes sense.

It was an awesome feeling. Had a Bronco Sport before my full size that I loved but always had a bit of jealousy for the full size Bronco. Got some big tires and a lift on my Sport and did some trails and fell in love.

When I got a pretty nice raise at work (and the water pump kept failing on my BS) I decided to trade in my Bronco Sport and get a full size base Bronco. At the time Ford was offering employee pricing on all Broncos AND they not inly paid off my BS, but gave my a bunch of money on top AND since I was a return customer they took even more off the price of the base Bronco

I still remember the day I bought it I immediately pulled the top back and drove around for hours.

When I first got my Bronco I was flaming mad at Ford for flat out lying to all of us early reservation holders and making us wait 3 years for our Broncos.

I sell them for a living and kept telling myself I didn't need one all the while telling customers why they did and how great they were. Which they definitely are. I bought my 23 wildtrak for my 60th birthday present to myself. Best Birthday ever. I had it on the beach the next day. I also had a living room full of boxes weeks before it arrived. Still smile every time I get in it.

Being a Gen-X'er, I have always loved the look of the 60's and early 70's Broncos. When Ford brought them back, I wanted one so bad, but couldn't afford or justify buying new. Last year, a used 22' BD non-SAS came up for a good price and I pulled the trigger. I LOVE MY BRONCO! Despite all the problems people have had, I smile every time I drive my Bronco.

5 years in and I still look back every time I'm walking into a store. The first few weeks there was separation anxiety when we took my wife's car anywhere.

Just as excited to get in and drive it today as much as I did on day 1 when I first got it.
Actually more so because it did not have a fuel tank skid plate on day 1!

I watched the unveiling and pre-ordered mine as soon as the website came online. Rejected all the offers to make changes to get it sooner. After a little over two years it was delivered and my first thought upon driving it was “this thing is trash. No ventilated seats and it uses the older computers like my Gen2 Raptor for lane control. It’s a 2022-just use the same stuff as my 22 rappy for a lane control that kinda works!”

But wifey loved it so I bought it anyway. I didn’t drive it myself for months.

It made me want to wear my big hat. I reserved a month after the reservation opened. I didn’t order until a year later. It was just under six months from actual order date to build date. In fact my build date was moved up three weeks. It was in my garage seven days after being built. I always wanted a first gen Bronco. I am extremely pleased with this generation. Long live the two door Bronco!

I reall liked my mustang gt convertible but when my back got too bad sit in for long thought about getting back into 4 wheeling with a comfortable bronco but ford could not seem to build me one…finally gave up and got one on the lot with my “must haves“….enjoy it way more than the wife’s bmw but my model A is still my daily driver…it did get me back to some off roading, so a good thing…

I was a bit nervous about the monthly payment TBH. I think its good tho. I had previously bought a 50k Ford Explorer and said I would never do it again because it For-ev-er to pay it off. 50k is a lot of money. Then I went out and bought a 60k Bronco. The thing is tho… the Bronco is worth it? I am genuinely happy (so far) making the monthly note because I don’t think there is anything else I would rather spend my money on. I feel very grateful I am in a position where I can afford it every month, rather than it just being a giant monthly bill like with the Explorer. Difference between buying something you enjoy vs buying something you need.
