I love it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. I won't identify her. She chased the Instagram fame back in the early 6G years. She had all the vendors giving her free crap with her promoting affiliate discounts. She was having a number of gremlin issues and showed up at our local "mod/wrenching" day. Popped the hood and she had lamp wire with wire nuts that her dad wired up her lights with.

Drilled through the wiring harness with a 2ft 1/8" drill bit for wont of a good flashlight and I thought it was still the firewall plug.

Separating the wires for repairs.

Some repaired (crimped butt connectors and heat shrink with the glue like @Ducati1098 has posted on here before as the Ford approved repair).

Blew three 10A fuses and the replacement fuses were a bit loose and one vibrated loose on the freeway and left me stranded at the next exit.

Ok, based on the responses I'm going to have to accept most likely to cause the fire that isn't Ford's fault as part of the challenge

I guess I'd be remiss if I didn't include my own janky repair made from stuff lying around at work. I've got some adel clamps and convolute tubing for a better repair when I have time.

Edited to add: it was definitely chafing on the fender seam, although not all the way through the fabric tape, hence the half-assed attempt at some protection rather than just waiting until I had the right stuff.
