Under the moon and the stars ✨

Last night I spontaneously decided to take a drive. I hit the road, cruising along the highway and then ventured off into the Pennsylvania hills. Passing through towns frozen in time, I left the pavement and came upon an old anthracite pit with some cranes standing tall. It was the perfect spot for a spontaneous photo session with my new ride.

Being out there, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the countryside, reminded me of the simple joys of exploration. It was a refreshing break from the routine, a chance to reconnect with the thrill of discovery. Overall, it was just good to be out and about.

Great Shot! Love to see those cranes, I grew up in Manitowoc, Wi where those cranes were built for many years.

Thanks!!! Those cranes are sizably impressive! I assume they would ship them to locations in pieces and assemble on site?

Yes, they shipped them all over the world, they would leave Manitowoc on rail and sometimes by barge. Manitowoc is on the shore of Lake Michigan about 2 hours North of Milwaukee. They built 28 submarines on the same property as the crane manufacturing during WW2. I have seen a lot of the cranes overseas on many of my business trips...always good to see a piece of the hometown!

First sort of posed photo. On a friend’s ranch. Bluebonnets just starting to bloom.
