If they have to have less rolling resistance, then they will be made with less material, and not last as long.

Not a surprise, NYPost is a headline-grabber that leaves a LOT of details out just to stir up controversy.Nypost doing it's usual hack job. The regs basically only apply to summer highway tires.
Key details regarding the exemptions include:
https://getyourwheels.com/blog/california-performance-tire-rules-explained/
- Snow Tires: Tires defined as "winter-type snow tires" or those certified with the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol are fully exempt from the energy performance standards.
- All-Weather Tires: Tires meeting the specific definition of all-season winter performance tires (typically 3PMSF rated) are also exempt, though they will be tracked by the state for potential future regulation.
- Competition Tires: Motorsports tires with a treadwear rating of 200 or lower are exempt.
- Other Exemptions: The rules also exempt off-road tires (typically 34.5+ inches or load index 122+), motorcycle tires, spare tires, and low-volume tires (under 15,000 units annually).

That is something the tire manufacturers and others fighting the new reg have pointed out.If they have to have less rolling resistance, then they will be made with less material, and not last as long.
Just like gas can manufacturers "adapted"? Giving us cans that are basically useless for their intended purpose.Until it's a problem, it's not a problem.
I can't run m50x15 slicks due to laws and
You'll not run some arbitrary brand sold through full page ads in magazines.
Thompson vs mtr vs at4 vs toyo... arguments for arguments sake.
Tire makers will adapt, You'll adapt.
This too shall pass.
I like to see who owns the media that I ingest. Apparently KTLA is owned by NexStar Media and the NY Post is owned by News Corp, aka Fox News. You wish.
How about from KTLA5 in SoCal
It may affect a minority of Bronco owners, but they’ll be the ones we make fun of on this forum anyway.A lot of hype over a nothing-burger. It won’t affect us Bronco owners, so don’t lose any sleep over this.
Jumping jimminy dude. How deep does your conspiracy go?I like to see who owns the media that I ingest. Apparently KTLA is owned by NexStar Media and the NY Post is owned by News Corp, aka Fox News.
You might remember NexStar Media as one of the groups that decided to temporarily remove Jimmy Kimmel from the air after making comments about someone's death that they didn't like. This may give you an idea of their political leanings.
Also, "KTLA's digital news platform frequently publishes and syndicates regional content involving the New York Post, such as when the New York Post expanded its digital footprint and launched a localized California initiative."
So I am not sure that using KTLA as a second source for a NY Post article is ideal since KTLA syndicates NY Post content.

pieacy go?
So pointing out that the news report you used to confirm the NY Post is based on the NY Post is somehow makes me a conspiracy theorist ?Jumping jimminy dude. How deep does your conspiracy go?
ALL news outlets, TV, web and print are covering this.
You add a Schrader valve.Just like gas can manufacturers "adapted"? Giving us cans that are basically useless for their intended purpose.
I see Discount tire opening up a double size store in Quartzite.if only there was a neighboring state that didn't have silly laws![]()
I get your point. I agree the smog laws were good. I remember not being able to see the San Gabriel Mountains from the pier in Long Beach because of the smog.It amazes me how so many people point out all the problems with CA. Every state has problems, some address them and some don't. CA addressed smog because it was so bad especially in SoCal in the LA basin. That initiated the CA auto emissions requirements. That did eventually end up being used nation wide. That has helped reduce smog in CA as well as many cities with that problem. I don't know about everybody else, but I like breathing cleaner air and don't mind the cost to have it.
I suppose CA should have been blamed for creating smog.
I am not native Californian, but have been here since 1969 and don't see any reason to leave. There are things I don't like about it but more that I do like. Why move to another place that also has things that I don't like. To each his own.
Do I want low rolling resistance tires? No, but I will adapt if need be and leave being concerned to bigger issues.
