Living in the nation’s lightning capital, I’ve often wondered what sort of protection my soft top offers should I suffer a strike while driving. Maybe the roll bar will ground it - maybe not I guess. Hate to find out

Since the hard top panels are removable, they're not going to provide much more protection. Essentially, just wear your seatbelt and that's really all you can do.

I was an EMT for 5+ years and your only hope for the least harm is to have your seatbelt on. Those without one will be much more likely to be ejected, then you're just gambling with physics.

About 4 years ago I witnessed a Ford Explorer roll 10+ times after a tire blew out on a hot July day. 4 out of 6 passengers were ejected. An 18yo boy (partially ejected) was killed when the Explorer rolled on top of him. One of his brothers suffered a broken arm. Dad had a severe concussion, but was otherwise ok.
