Oh yeah!! THAT took a learning curve for sure. I could get the top side latches to catch the elbow that folded the top into sunrider mode from the back. I can see how having it lifted, or being... less vertically gifted... would make that harder.
Factory Willys wheeler W with 1.5" puck lift and factory tires wasn't an issue for me. Was tricky the first few times, but lots of reps helped me. I could be totally top down, windows rolled up in the best top carrier, and top secured with wide strips of velcro in about 5 minutes.
I undid...
That's not unlike the jeep top capability. those rear straps are a bit different. Side arms will certainly hold it and allow it to be folded back, but the rear windows still need a lower attachment for seal, as does the back.
I am 100% getting the soft top. Open-air experience with ease.
That rear opening to the trunk with the bar horizontally across the top of the tailgate for the rear window in my Wrangler was an irritation for sure.
If this is a way it can open, I wonder how it latches in the back with...
I already checked with ACE engineering (they make some AMAZING things for the jeeps) and they have a bronco order reserved, and will 100% start making pieces for the bronco when they get it. Really high quality, American made stuff with a lifetime warranty.
And I'm not even compensated to...
Different strokes for different folks I guess. Top-down is the reason I'm in line for this thing. The premium soft top material is really very nice. It doesn't cheapen it at all for me.
I was leaning strongly towards the Wildtrak because of the painted black trim before the top info and the interior walkthrough emerged. Wanting the hardtop to the trim changes everything with the altered availability of the tops.
Having said what I did above about 100% getting soft top...
I sincerely hope it would be there, the top consideration is steering both trim and color decisions for me. Knowing it is "hardtop ready" may help my decision if the dual top group isn't available.
Unfortunately, I now trust little what Ford representatives have said in the past. I hope...
I'm gonna throw this in here.
I've used a soft-top through the entirety of winter on several jeeps. It is not a problem. Don't smack the snow/ice off the windows or they can crack, but other than that it is not a problem at all. I did end up getting a hardtop that I would put on for...
I was considering this last night. What are the useful daily applications of crab walking?
Well. I thought of one. My garage door is more narrow than my garage itself. Crab walking may help me snug up to the wall after I get through the bottleneck door opening.
And that's it. That's all...
THAT'S how you copy Tesla's "reservation" process.
EDIT: Make the pricy one available first.
seems that could have helped ford a bit. The bottleneck isn't so severe, although it is a less palatable strategy for those who aren't into top trims.
$133k trim available Fall 2021
$100k trim available Fall 2022
$90k trim available Spring 2023
The lowest cost base trim comes in at $80k and is available Spring of twenty-freaking-FOUR!!!
EEEEhhhhhh. nah...
What does that mean if your reservation is from September 18th exactly?
Time to call out the English majors again. "As of"
Details Ford... Details. Words have meaning.
I went to Filson's site, typed in "green" in the search bar. I'd be happy with the general color palate it displays through the green items.
Give it a whirl, tell me what you think.
