  1. HAVOC Steel Bender Front Bumper Installed

I haven't towed anything yet. I did use those hooks to pull a large limb out of a tree, but doubt that the force was all that huge. I'm no welding expert, but they look really solid to me
  2. Single best modification you've made on your Bronco!?

Custom Interior Lighting. Ordered IAG dome light kit for my 4-door hardtop Bronco, but really didn't like the way they stick out with the brackets. Looked far from stock. But their install video gave some clear instructions for running the wires, so decided to do a custom solution with flush...
  3. Custom Interior Dome Lights, Flush Mount and Super Bright

Ordered IAG dome light kit for my 4-door hardtop Bronco, but really didn't like the way they stick out with the brackets. Looked far from stock. But their install video gave some clear instructions for running the wires, so decided to do a custom solution with flush mount LEDs. Picked the...
  4. Stinger tailgate sub installed, Stinger 700w amp install under driver seat with pics, 6.5 Mabett rear Kickers

I put a JL 500W mono sub amp in the space vacated by the B&O stock sub enclosure, since I was removing that. Worked out pretty well. Just had to fabricate a fiberboard mounting bracket (covered with sound deadening mat for no good reason) to mount it. Went with a JL 10" sub in a small custom...
  5. Installed our Bestop Skyrider for Hardtop

@ ~Crystal@Bestop, Realize this is a thread about the Skyrider, but I'm going to ask a question about the Sunrider anyway. On a 4d Bronco, can you remove the Sunrider along with the middle (2nd row) panel as one complete unit, without disassembling the two? I'd love to be able to do that...
  6. Installed our Bestop Skyrider for Hardtop

One thing I love about my Bestop Sunrider (had one on my Wrangler, and it was the first thing I bought for my Bronco) is the ability to open and close it from the driver's seat at a traffic light in seconds. Do you have to get out of the Bronco and flip this back/forward from the side of the...
  7. Sub/Amp B&O Upgrade - Advice: Turn Off Speed Compensated Volume!

No, I built a custom enclosure for teh 10" JL. The factory sub housing is plastic and did not have a lot of interior volume. Definitely looked like it would starve a 10" sub. I mounted my amp in the location where the factory sub housing was. I didn't do a full post on the build as there...
  8. Sub/Amp B&O Upgrade - Advice: Turn Off Speed Compensated Volume!

Advice for anyone doing a subwoofer mod by adding an aftermarket amp fed off of the factory sub wiring - turn off your Speed Compensated Volume. I installed a high end JL 10" sub with a JL 500W amp, both known good components, and the base was loud, but just didn't sound right. Too boomy...
  9. Sunrider for hardtop accessory is crazy noisy! Is this normal?

Three fixes are needed. First agree that adjusting the latches as far forward as they go helps. Second if you have a lot of flapping noise at the top the sleeve that attaches with Velcro to the center bar is loose. I fixed mine by taking a piece of 3/4 in tubing and cutting it down the...
  10. HAVOC Steel Bender Front Bumper Installed

Yes, was able to use the factory mount/retainer. For the rear bumper, the Havoc sensor mounts were great. It was just the front bumper where they all had alignment problems. Mostly a function of the sensor configuration itself. Rear sensors are different from front sensors.
  11. HAVOC Steel Bender Front Bumper Installed

Word to the wise on the sensors...save your sensor attachment parts from your old bumper and re-use on the Havoc. They easily separate to come off the oem bumper. The Havoc ones come off by unscrewing. Despite looking more robust, I found that the Havoc sensor mounts with the foam and the...
  12. Havoc F/R bumpers, Hooke Road step rails, Rigid lights, Antenna delete, Custom heavy mud flaps...exterior mods complete!

I think a lot of people do just the front bumper. It does come with a front license plate mount. I reused the plastic skid plate that came with my bronco. It fits just fine with this bumper. Maybe someday will switch to a metal plate
  13. Havoc F/R bumpers, Hooke Road step rails, Rigid lights, Antenna delete, Custom heavy mud flaps...exterior mods complete!

See attached pic. Pod light mount is directly above antenna. I replaced the antenna with a 1/4-20 bolt with a waterproof washer. And made a short connecting strap out of crimp connectors and a piece of wire. Attached the other end of that strap to the mounting bolt for the pod light. That...
  14. Havoc F/R bumpers, Hooke Road step rails, Rigid lights, Antenna delete, Custom heavy mud flaps...exterior mods complete!

Not silly. The mounts were the most important thing to me. I wanted them to be strong. These mount in two places where a lot of the others mount in three but the brackets were obviously much stronger on these. Two bolts on each brackets so 4 per side. And then it also mounts with nuts and bolts...
  15. Havoc F/R bumpers, Hooke Road step rails, Rigid lights, Antenna delete, Custom heavy mud flaps...exterior mods complete!

I can't see any noticeable dip in the front since I put the heavier bumper on. It wasn't crazy heavy though. I was able to lift it by myself to install it. As far as the rails they sit down lower than the rocker. But are still not as low as some of the components under the vehicle. I think...
