I wound up constructing a holder for the front panels of the hardtop out of PVS wrapped in foam and locked into the side panel of the rear interior. I also constructed a hoist to lift my hardtop off the Bronco. I modeled it after the $1000 hoist sold by Smarter Home. I made it so that I could lift the hardtop along with the roof rail attached. Being that I live in Florida and it rains at the drop of a hat, so I carry the Rain Gear cover just in case I get stuck in the rain without the top. It all came together very well.

Curious as to why you built a storage cart for the inside of your Bronco for the panels since it comes with an onboard storage bag already. If you are concerned about laying things on top of the "stored panels, it would be much easier to put a 24"X48" shelf across the back and that way you have 2 tiers of storage. see this thread:

Aweome!! You've me thinking. Should I try and make my own Lift n Go?

So my garage with a small trailer in it is more set up for a Lift n Go vs a pulley system. But why couldn't I build a lower wood frame and caster wheels - like a flat dolly, pipe with 90 degree bends, and some kind of supports and then maybe a trailer jack? Don't mean to hijack your thread but at least wanted to give you credit for getting mind mindracing! :)

I think it looks great and is much better than putting them in the bags which is a pain. What I'm not sure about is why on earth anyone would suggest you do something different once your job is already completed and looks amazing. There is a lot of great info on this forum, and a lot of people that just chime in for the sake of ....???

Or maybe some people are just curious as to the specific use case and are pointing out other ideas that have been discussed over the past 4 years on the forum that work as well.

I can see pointing out ideas if input was requested. But he was finished. Maybe it's just that I personally like what he did.

And you can see from the thread I included that an idea started by one poster morphed into several different variations of that initial solution...that's what this forum is supposed to be about, not a one and done that's the only way to do it. You like his idea that's great, plenty of others may want to take it in a different direction and that's great too, but without understanding the use case it makes it hard for some people to make the leap as to why some one went one direction or another and maybe haven't thought of it that same way. There's also a crap ton of info out here from some of us that have been here since the beginning that not everyone is able to find with search so it makes sense to bring those ideas back to top when someone shows off their handy work - whether they were looking for feedback or not... Someone else viewing the thread might want those additional ideas

NICE! I finally put up my JTOPPS hoist (after almost a year and a half) and hate it. Have to have it tied off so it doesn't rotate in the air, have it off center to lift level (even contacted JTOPPS and didn't get a response on the 2nd reply with pix).

Never been a DIY guy for stuff like this, great job!!!!! Jealous. Would like to find a way to lift my doors in the air to get them out of our extra bedroom...or "wife" wants them out of the extra bedroom lol.

How tall is your Garage? you could build a rack similar to the OPs roof panel holder then use a HF or Amazon lift mounted to the ceiling then lift the doors up. if you have a low ceiling you can maybe build a rack that stacks the doors like pancakes. here is my quick and dirty lift for my top. I have 12' ceilings.

It's unfortunately a typical suburban home with a finished garage, might be 10-12' at most. With the Bronco lifted and trying to get the top off it is a little of a chore. Good news is I plan on leaving it off for quite a while since it's now a garage queen but nerve racking hanging over my wife's Lexus.
