I've got more than a little buyer's remorse with the new Escape I bought the wife in March. ~2,100 miles marked the first of two times the Big Screen was black on startup so far. I'll never buy another vehicle without physical controls for audio and HVAC, and I'll punt this one in a heartbeat if the shitshow continues. Shame, because it's great otherwise.

Hard to trust ford tech department tbh when they half develop software they promised for the bronco at launch then took away features designed for the bronco in existing apps. Seems like a department without solid leadership.

Not just Ford though, these dinosaur car companies just can't wrap their heads around the idea that they are just as much software companies today as they are hardware companies.

I don’t get it. Everyone I know uses AA or CarPlay. As long as those programs run, what else do I need from ford. And for goodness sake, don’t put the hvac or anything else in the radio, just infotainment.

Ford should ABSOLUTELY STOP designing any proprietary infotainment systems and should go full in on further development of Android Auto and Apple Carplay. I use the built in stuff 0% of the time!
