Bought a can of Duplicor Oxford White and gave the D rings a quick color change…
HLE - before & after
2 Dr BD - after & before
I removed the D rings by prying off the plastic cover and then used a punch & hammer to pound out the retaining pin. There are rubber “bushings” that fit inside the D ring and between the pin so I removed those as well before preparing for paint. A liberal cleaning with Greased Lightning & scrub brush and they were ready. After thorough drying I applied several light coats of paint and the finished result is terrific. After drying for a couple of hours, I reinstalled them and violá.
