After an entire summer of testing I believe I have perfected the design. Materials used include: 1/2 thick HDPE Plastic sheet, velcro straps, adhesive felt sheet, M8x40 bolts, washers, 1/4 20 ball mount, 1/4 20 tripod extension, 30mm rubber ball, 1/4 20 studs, two 3/8 thick spacers and adhesive rubber seals to keep it from scratching the plastic. I've been on trails like Peters Mill, Flag Pole Knob and Union Springs. The battery stayed put, did not shift at all.

I added my AC inverter under the shelf to make sure the power station stays charged.

Fancy.

I was trying to come up with something very similar for my Anker C1000 battery, but I couldn't figure out a way to secure the left side of the shelf. A little tripod arm is clever though, may ultimately steal that idea.

I also realized after fussing with it that battery package I had can power my 12V cooler for nearly 5-6 days, and frankly most of my trips are 2-3 days. So took advantage of a sale and downsized a bit to a Anker C300DC. Now just trying to figure out a way to mount my new battery pack.

I have a similar battery the Ecoflow Trail 300 also for powering my fridge. Planning to design/fab a steel holder and add nutserts in the rollbar to anchor it, below the factory nutserts. With maybe a strap to anchor the battery to the holder. And line the holder with some extra killmatt I have laying around. What do you think of that concept? Any risks with adding more nutserts in the rollbar?

Keep in mind there are some serious forces involved during a crash so make sure the mounting is strong enough to keep that heavy item from turning into a deadly projectile.

Why not just set it on the floor? You’re not camping every day, are you?

Yep, mine is 1800kw solar generator so its heavy. Its tuck on the deck. Just as a recommendation purchase LiFePO battery, they have a greater battery recharge lifetime then lithium. The upper EV car market is now in the switching over to it now

I had to do a little research on the LiFePO, and surprisingly they also make replacement car battery.
Dont like the price, but love the features of it.

The tech in this area, has really grown, and cant wait to see what they can do.

Um…those ARE Lithium, that is what the Li in LiFePO4 stands for.

Your technically correct, but LiFePO have a longer life compared to the old Lithium batterie which has a recharge of life of only 800-900 times. The new generation of LiFePO batteries normally can be recharged 3000 to 4000 times (cycles).

Great idea. Never thought of putting mine up there.
