I'd read plenty of others complaining about the OEM Rigid SR-M fogs, so I hadn't really paid them much attention before, but I needed to free up AUX1 for my new lightbar. While I was at it, I realized that I'd never taken the time to aim them properly. They were aimed way too low from the factory.

Anyway, I finally aimed them, set them up on the same fog button circuit, and enabled the fogs to operate alongside the highbeams with forscan. They may not be the best 'off-road lights', but I think as a supplement to the high and low beams while being SAE compliant they actually aren't bad.

Alignment is the first thing to play with I aligned all my lights on a pitch dark country road ....saved me a lot of cash just on FP fogs alone.

For sure, I find my neighbor's garage to be nice for alignment since it's a level grid

I noticed the same thing. They're aimed at least 15 inches too low if not more. It's easy enough to adjust them. My 2002 Subaru had the same problem. So I'd blame DOT regulations. DOT seems more concerned that another driver isn't offended than if you can see what you need to see.

I wonder if the factory adjustment is based on having the cargo area loaded down.
No don't think so. If the back of your Bronco droops that much when loaded, you're either over loaded or your springs are shot.

I think Ford is just installing the lights as they were manufactured without any attempt to adjust them.

Definitely makes a difference - thanks for posting. Don't have fog lights (yet), but adjusted the Oracle headlights as they were too high. Still get the occasional "oncoming hi-flash" - guessing it's 'ol cooters (like me) who don't understand the brightness of new lights. ;) :D

Yup, place screw in hole, tighten, done.

not sure if this is known or anyones addressed this already, but is everyone aware that one set is supposed to be dot and and the other is off-road only? obviously the aux switch fogs are supposed to be off-road only thats why bronco raptors only come with covers for one set of lights from the factory bc as everyone "always abides by that law" that you have to have off-road lights covered unless driving off-road. lol.

im curious if you guys have looked at yours bc ford basically from what ive heard and experienced just used dot lights for both. look closely and you can see the dot on the lens. ive had two raptors and both mine have dot on both sets.

I'd love to hear from everyone what they have or if anyone has a set of non dot lights.

My understanding is they are both DOT-friendly SAE fogs (and that they are the same). Ford sells one covered and enabled via the AUX switch to be complaint with new vehicle regulations which are ridiculous imo.

Since both are street legal, I don't feel too bad about running them both from the fog switch and I keep them on all the time now to make my lights brighter. So far, nobody has flashed me once since my adjustments.

I gotcha but what ive heard from a close buddy thats an insider at ford told me the covered weren't supposed to be dot. this was around 2022/2023 so that may have changed. again, just what he told me.

If I were a betting man, I would say that the engineers probably wanted them to be proper, but someone in legal made it the way it is.

Which Forscan spreadsheet did you use? I have been searching for one for the Bronco and haven’t been able to locate it. I want to adjust a few things on the wife’s Bronco that I had done on my F150. Thank you in advance.
