I haven't heard anything about using trail assist, it works really good in the snow making a U-turn from the curb while you're picking up your grandkids.

Wondering if anybody else finds it useful.

Seems like it's mostly a party trick.
Unfortunely, consensus point to mostly this. It's best not to use it where it would really come in handy as the binding forces have broken at least one axle around here. :sneaky:

I’ve got a video on YT of me doing donuts in a parking lot during an ice storm. About the only time I’d use it. They didn’t even want us using it at off-roadeo.

I actually do use it on trails for tight spots and sometimes screwing around…it is a helpful option, used correctly…but ya do want to be in low traction & power situations…

Yeah ive used it in tight trails but only at slow speeds and when a 35 point turn is my only other option. If you are doing donuts with it in on wet pavement well....what would one expect.
Used properly it works great

I've used it on sand trails for tight turns. It's not an every day type feature, but when you need it, it's nice to have.

Probably useless at the mall parking lot though.

It's fun in the snow and useful on the trail in tight turn situations. I don't use it a often but when I do it's usually in front of a Jeep!!

Bonus points in front of a jeep.

pretty pointless on my end. and tears up the trails where that's kinda taboo in certain states. it's fun on the ice though!

I’ve used it a couple times on tight switchbacks. The sketchy part is that switchbacks are usually made out of necessity and there is exposure on the outside of the turn. Sooo…if the TTA doesn’t kick in when your foot is on the accelerator…bad things. Makes the multi point turn seem like a great plan.

During the offrodeo the guide flat out told us it’s best to not use it.

one reason that isn’t brought up as much is because it wrecks the trail.

he then took us to a prepared area that wasn’t even on any of the trails and had us test it out. It works as advertised, if you’re in a situation where you need to reduce your turning radius but can’t do a 3 point turn and the ground is slick.

they had a plow ready to fix all the damage after the group was done.

Ford has denied warranty work where TTA has broke stuff and larger-than-stock tires were installed.

OHHH that's me!!! I was using it at a tight turn on a level 9 trail. It was a place I could multi point with a 100 ft drop in front and a rock climb in back. The others asked me to use it. I snapped a front CV.
