So you are telling me a Bronco that was designed to go off road doesn't haul a trailer as good as a truck that was make to haul stuff
OK got it
I remember when Toyota put out the ad of a Tundra pulling the Space Shuttle. What they didn't show is the 4 MPG it got while towing it!

At 80 mph in a cool designed brick pulling a trailer that engine had to be screaming. That's not real world. Real world would be pull trailer and load with a truck or keep it around 55 60 max in the bronco. Even then these are not real tow vehicles.
For a so called truck with a frame they are not much good for towing anything. You are right though.

I have approximately 3500 miles on my FE, average speed according to the computer is 35 Mph running premium fuel 18.3 mpg , living in the the Pacific Nothwest is rolling hills. I have not towed anything yet but do plan on towing a small cargo trailer with my quad in it, need to trailer hitch first though!

I know it's not built to tow! I have my F-350 for that. I was just putting the info out there incase someone wondered.
Plenty of people sure want it to tow though, and more than 3500. I'm guessing those kind of people will disregard your findings anyway, they need to learn the hard way.

60 while towing is definitely more real world in my case. I haven't even gone 80 yet period.
If you do, bring some ear plugs.

That is some surprisingly crappy mpg. I averaged over 18 mpg from WV to AR running 75-80 most of the way. No trailer, but wow. Do you have Super Swampers on your trailer?

I've been to 75, it was acceptable, not much louder than my wife's Edge. Haven't been faster than 65 since I put on the Mickeys but they easily drown out the hardtop.

Exactly I get it if you tow a trailer 1-2 times a yr to move something sure or use hitch to carry bikes but if you are hauling a boat, trailer or anything with any kind a weight regularly and you thought a Bronco was the answer. You were WRONG

Have a toy hauler, always talked of pulling bikes out west with it "to use as our base camp". Till we figured how much fuel it was going to cost verses loading them in to the back of the F250.

I’m general, the EcoBoost motors take a huge mileage hit when towing / hauling, even something small.

I’m lucky to see 8.5-9 MPG whenever I tow something behind my F150 Raptor (3.5 EcoBoost).
The Raptor's aren't too famous for their gas mileage. I have an F150 3.5 ecoboost with max tow, around town it gets 19-20 mpg and on the interstate with cruise set at 70 it gets 24-25. Once you pass 70 the gas mileage drops considerably (just under 80 it gets about 20-21). If I pull my 28' enclosed car trailer (about 10,000 lbs loaded) it drops down to 12-13 at 65 and very very quickly drops if you go any faster. With my open car trailer with a car on it (about 5000 lbs loaded) it gets 15-16 at 70 mph.

Yes. But towing a trailer at 80mph while taking a picture of the dash is just downright f'n stupidity.
You've not driven at high speeds much I'm guessing! I have driven some insane speeds and been to racing school. I'm comfortable in my own skin, it's all good, I'm not an idiot!

What kind of ramp does your trailer have? I used to have a light weight 6x12 all aluminum trailer that got the tow vehicle very bad gas mileage. It only weighed 525 lbs but with the rear ramp / gate up was like pulling a big wind break.
