How do you get the top onto the wood pieces?

Back Bronco 1/2 way under hoist, lift top by hand at back, slide wood between body and top.
Wood is drilled to accept body pegs,

I'd probably scratch the hell outta the Bronco getting it onto the wood.
The top is too heavy also,it's cracking your ceiling ,lol

Rad Sportz Kayak hoist on Amazon. I used the hoist for Kayaks for several years before Bronco top storage became a priority.....

I'd probably scratch the hell outta the Bronco getting it onto the wood.
The top is too heavy also,it's cracking your ceiling ,lol

The top weighs less than 100 Lbs total.... Crack in ceiling drywall is due to poor seam in a 24 year old Garage.... and it's not repaired because it's a garage!. Hoist is Lag bolted into ceiling joists. Not scratching up your ride, just takes time and some care, pine should be softer than your paint finish.

Great looking set up, nice work! I have the Harkin Hoister for my top hoist and it works great, solo operation, was relatively inexpensive (under $200) and came with everything I needed (except the wood crossbeams). Bronco makes a great convertible and having a quick/easy/solo way to remove & store your tops is an absolute must

Did you adapt the Rad Sportz to work with the Bronco top? If so, how?

Pretty easy actually, I drilled out the rivets holding the strap hooks to the horseshoe brackets, then screwed the support beams to the 2X6 56" wood runners. (See photos, for screw attachments)

my solution, I use straps that attach to the 1/2 pipe with pool noodles for scratch resistance. I then mounted a 400lb hoist in the rafters . It is ugly but very efficient. Literally 20 min top removal and 30 minute install. 1 man operation.

Quick up date, change screw, attachment for wood frame, to a hinged around a screw attachment, super easy on off now.

Nice Solution, But one of my key design goals was to have the top sit naturally on the underside edge as it does when installed on the Bronco. I'm not sure if the top is designed to be supported by the top. Time will tell. I like the winch Idea, I might change my manual hoist to an electric wench in the future,
