UPDATE I must have trashed that battery when it went completly dead. After charging to 100% it fired right up and I drove it for quite a while. One day later it was dead again. Temp in pole barn 36 degrees. I may have got a bad one from the start. Going to bring it in under warranty.
The dealer *should* replace it for sure. I had a friend just go through this on her 2023. 32k miles and started getting "entering deep sleep" notifications. Battery died after being parked only for a couple of days. Dealer replaced it no questions asked.

Some of these batteries from the factory are trash

Have a 2023. Right now only have 25000 miles on it. Last year during big cold snap the battery died. Took the battery out and brought it to dealer told them to test it. Didn't take long service department manager said it's definitely bad. He gave me a new one but warned me Ford will only replace the battery once under warranty. I laughed and told him if he had two batteries fail in the first 3 years / 36,0000 miles I wouldn't want another one of his batteries I would buy a good one.😀😀😀
Wow, you sure told him🙄

It's all good I know the guy very well. He was the salesman for the Bronco I bought so we had 2 years of back and forth and put the order in 3 times before Ford got around to building it. He just recently became the service dept. manager.

You could very well be right. The AGM in my 2016 F150 lasts for years and years... I've only seen it replaced once.
A true AGM can last for many years. The OE AGM in Miatas were known for going 20+ years.

Many of what I see marketed as AGM for other vehicles now seem to be far heavier, more akin to traditional lead-acid batteries.

As to OE MotorCraft units, they have long been noted for being a two-year proposition, even going to the 70's and 80's...

OEM dual AGM in my 2017 Transit work van still going even after a complete kill and recharge a few years ago. I think it’s today’s crappy manufacturing, BMS and too much unnecessary electronics running. And quite possibly these charging systems used today.
Have to say original battery in my 22 minimally optioned Badlands is still going. 24 Maverick battery died at 12k miles. 23 sport is still going.

I was browsing threads here and someone was convinced the O'Reilly line comes out of a factory in Pennsylvania that still makes durable AGM's, so when I needed to replace mine a few months back (at about 25k and 10 months off the lot if I remember correctly - was not going to go to the dealer for "free" warranty :cautious: ) I picked one up.

Got home and was installing it when I noticed "made in Mexico" stamped on it :ROFLMAO:

Not that it might not be a good battery, it just shows how fluid these retailer/manufactures are.
The reference was likely to East Penn, which makes their own line, and others as well. https://www.eastpennmanufacturing.com/

I have found the quality of batteries in general has really fallen off a cliff. Batteries in my cars used to last 10 yrs. Now it seems two years is about it, and that is in cars that have very few electronics on board like my 2012 Miata.

what‘s worse are alkaline batteries commonly used in household products. They now fail while in storage even before used!

Good through March 2028 according to Duracel.
