I understand what you mean by the slip and tack solution. I used both when installing 3M film. Sometimes it finished and dried perfect and sometimes it seemed as there was a slight soap residue. That is why I tried the XPEL gel and have had measurable improved results. So far I have installed the hood, rockers, A-pillar, roof line headlights, rigid 3" lights, fenders and grill. The gel has made it for me much more of a forgiving process. Be patient and give a day or so to be crystal clear. For the above mentioned locations I did not need a tack solution. The gel worked perfect. Appling heat also help shrink difficult areas. Hope this helps, good luck.In regards to using the Xpel installation gel, is this a one stop solution? Seeing videos of people installing PPF using both a slip solution and a tack solution... Would Xpel's gel effectively act as both?
