Here’s a severely pessimistic viewpoint…. The tooling for the new MIC tops won’t be ready anytime soon- like barely by the end of 2021. We’ve not heard from ANYONE saying that the tooling is even installed yet. Ford needs to get these Broncos out. Ford needs to get the FEs built and out. All Broncos are getting MIC 1.0 and getting shipped. Even the FEs. MIC 2.0 will come later and be shipped to dealers in 2022. Is that why they are now starting to schedule them for late Sept and early Oct? Maybe. I’m in Florida, I don’t need a top at all… Full send dammit!!!

Ford Bronco 6/30 blend dates PXL_20210904_180257414.MP~2

Luckily I'm not THAT fat. The flyer must be for preproduction models.

I was just browsing Instagram and I follow a bronco girl page. Some lady got a hard top delivered, like very recently. Someone in the comments asked how, which is exactly what my question was going to be, but they said they have no idea how it happened. Sooooo ???
No clue on blend date or any of that but a MIC was recently delivered??

Actually, I'm OK with Ford shipping the truck as it sits. Caveat being that there will be a number of very specific criteria that they need to meet in writing before I will accept the vehicle. Not the least of which is that the top WILL be replace entirely at their expense as soon as is humanly possibly. Another will be that Ford is 100% responsible for any and all damage that may occur due to a faulty top. I'll probably find a few other conditions along the way.

This would basically be what I have wanted since July.

Up until July 21st some MIC tops did meet QC and get shipped. Some of the shipments by rail have been really slow. I know of one that a Mid July blend that just arrived after having tons of rail issues and when it arrived the center of the hood was damaged.

Ahh okay that makes sense. Guess I wasn’t thinking about prolonged rail travel times but would make sense. I’m going to see if I can’t find out her blend date.

I just checked our order bank and it looks like every order that got a build date in the last two weeks has now been pushed back at least a month. Just when you think things are getting better, here comes another delay.

Not sure why all of these soft top orders are getting pushed, but I have a feeling this has something to do with the group of 1st Editions and other MIC tops that are now scheduled for next week. Ford has to get these Broncos build in short order and rather than build them once MIC 2.0 is out, it looks like they will be build with 1.0 and shipped off to Dirt Mountain like the rest of us to ensure they get built within the 21MY timeline.

In short, Dirt Mountain might get a little more crowded in the next couple of weeks.
