Hi everyone, really struggling finding more info on this. There’s 6 speakers in the non b&o system. But most of what I am seeing online are 4 channel modules and 4 channel amp/module packages.

Is it possible to hook up a 6 channel amp and retain all the factory stereo stuff? Most of the threads I come across are simply people upgrading the speakers or just adding an amp/sub or are talking about the key amp 200.4

It’s been a long time since I had to do a full audio swap. Both my Mazdas (Miata and cx90) were adequate for my needs.

Would really appreciate any direction on this.

Thanks!

My goal
Upgrade rear pods to 6” (factory stereo amplification will not be enough for this)
Upgrade the dash speakers
Upgrade kick panel speakers (another speaker that would definitely need amplification if replaced)
Add sub and sub amp

My suggestion is Helix V Eight 8 ch DSP amp. Designed to work with the SB type built into Fords radio. The Bronco really needs the DSP to dial in sound and restore bass Ford blocks below 50Hz. Little pricey and learning curve on the software. But mine sounds absolutely amazing.

I'm in same boat..upgraded all speakers and just purchased stinger tailgate sub. Very confused on amplifier upgrade..thinking I would like a 5 channel amp but when I go to audio installers they seem confused since there are 7 speakers including sub. Installing speakers was not too difficult but amplifier install might be a bit out of my comfort zone as I would like it tuned properly. Anybody in NY/NJ/CT that can recommend some installers that understand Broncos and their sound deficiencies would be greatly appreciated as well as amp recommendation. Sorry not trying to hijack thread but I've spent countless hours researching this and can not come up with a decent solution

Dash and Kick Panel speakers are on the same "channel" to simplify your thought process on it.

While it's not a classic "Component" Speaker system, thinking of it as such may help you work out what you want.

@zuke is correct.

The front kick panel speaks and dash speakers share a channel. So while there are 6 speakers, there are only four channels:
  • Front left kick/dash
  • Front right kick/dash
  • Rear left pod
  • Rear right pod
I have wiring diagrams in this post, if you need them.

You can absolutely run a 6-channel amplifier, but you'll have to run all-new wiring to either the dash and/or kick panel speakers.
