I honestly don't know. I'll pull up the installation guide and see if that's the issue.

Did your installer cut them too short? I’m pretty sure the running board is cut to size.
Good call. Installation guide for 4 Dr states no modification needed and it is 72". Measured mine and its 72". Just measured the rock rails and they are 74". Probably enough to meet a difference.

They don't suck in all the way on one side. See how it's slanted.

I was expecting this coverage.

And got this.

It looks as if the bolts for the arms/steps we tightened before everything was fully assembled and adjusted. If installed correctly it’ll sit far more evenly and flush.

They only need to be cut for the 2 door. They come the correct size needed for the 4 door, no trimming needed.

Here’s mine. I installed them
myself and I remember the directions being very specific about when to tighten and for adjustment to have them even and work correctly without binding.

Get some mud or dirt on it please.
It’s plenty muddy right now 😂 this was in the summer after I had everything installed. Haven’t washed it since probably.

I will say it’s a good looking rig.

I’d looked at getting power running boards at one time, but the ones I looked at required plugging into the OBD II port, wasn’t interested after that.

I'm in the same boat, I just want a simple rocker switch that deploys and retracts. I'd like to be able to deploy and leave them down for say, washing the roof.

Help me understand why you would not want to use the OBD II port? Is there something else that would need to be pugged in on an ongoing basis? I hear there are OBD II port splitters if thats the case. Just hoping to figure this out.

Amp also has a Controller Switch ($50) to manually override the steps to lock them into the up or down position for cleaning or accessing the roof.

Thanks

I have the steps. They are awesome! There is a OBD splitter that Amp sells...kinda pricey. On Amazon the OBD splitters are $10 or less.

I have only had to unplug the steps once to use the super chips flashcal so I didn't go with the splitter.

You can keep the steps down by stepping in them and closing the door. They will reset the next time you open the door.

I had automatic steps from rockslide on my jeep. Beefy for the rocks...but not as nice of a step. Also, they would sometimes not deploy with the door opening.

The Amp Steps have had flawless operation. Obviously not for the rocks.
