Any inexpensive alternatives to Bimini top?

I've had a Gearshade for a couple winters here in Fla. and am looking for recommendations on a budget top to replace it? The rear straps/clips and front gaps are an issue. So, any Mabett or similar units been installed by anyone? Or , is Jtops the only other satisfactory/quality solution?

JTops if I may comment…all bungee shades are inherently the same and most are made in China. Even those using straps use inferior materials.

Just saw your ad on Facebook, perfect timing. Looking at getting some samples, for white, does it get dirty quickly? How close is the blue to VB? We live in SE FL and definitely need it when we have the hard top off.

Samples are perfect to help with color selection. The white is a popular choice and unless you do a lot of off-roading it will stay clean for a long period. It can be cleaned easily by taking it off and scrubbing it with a soft car wash brush and Dawn dish detergent.

just placed an order for the white one since we are wrapping our hard top in white as well.

fyi the shipping page says FedX all over it, it's FedEx. it caught my eye since I work at FedEx. just wanted to bring that up in case anyone does the same as me and looks at spelling to determine if the website is legit or not.

Solid canvas top held on with bungees is going to bulge at higher speeds. The low pressure area created by the air rushing over the top will cause it to bulge and flap.

It’s called the Bernoulli effect, it’s why an airplane flies. We have tried for years and without a cage to mount the fabric to it’s going to go wild at speed.

Why canvas? Just leave your top on. Plus without access ports it will have to be removed when you put the hard top on. If you’re caught in the rain the gaps at front and sides will let the water right in.

No criticism meant here. Just don’t understand the value of a canvas top? Someone help us?
