This is not its final home, but it’s worked for six months (winter).Could you share where you mounted the Apex control box?

That’s not a bad idea.Gotcha. Did you add extra rubber foam at the contact point or is it the same as what came from factory? I'm thinking about adding extra insulation to it just in case. Maybe the rubber tape kind.
Thank you! This is not its final home, but it’s worked for six months (winter).
Looks awesome!!So far liking it, used the DV8 bumper
I am interested to see what you come up with.Just got mine mounted, working on a custom remote mount control box.

Check out the post. I have pictures of what I ended up doing. I think it came out pretty clean. I can get the items I used together if you are interested.
Check out the link to my post above. It has the items I bought to make the smaller control box that I mounted above the fuse box in the engine compartment. I used all the original controllers internals including the plastic base. I cut the base and the brass lugs to fit in the box.If you don’t mind sending the materials list. The stick badlands control box is huge. Any tips on making the smaller box would be helpful as well. Thanks!
Late reply, just saw this.Searched for the Badlands winch and this was the only thread that really popped up .
Does anyone have the Harbor Freight Badlands Apex mounted to a stock modular bumper ? Curious if the control box being relocated will allow decent front camera vision .
Welp. So much for that. Blew my AC lines on the trails over the weekend. Smoke started pouring out from under the hood in the middle of a 4 hour ride - I thought I was screwed. Honestly, I think bending them up and out of the way an inch or so would have avoided this. Getting the lines replaced tomorrow.Gotcha. Although I chose to go with a smaller footprint winch, I had considered the HF Badlands. If you want to see what it is capable of watch the Matt’s Off Road recovery channel on YouTube. He has 6 of them on his recovery rig and beats the hell out of them and they just keep going.
