Haha remember when ford said anything after Sept 18 would be a '22. Then they send out allocations and it turns out what they really meant was anything after the first 24 hours will be a '22

They are not. It depends on where you stand in your dealer’s list, how many they get allocated, and how your order is slowed or not by parts restrained options.

Probably hasn't done any research and is under the impression that the Bronco is like other Fords where you walk into any dealer, place an order and it shows up 6 weeks later.

I messaged a dealer a while ago while looking for a CG Bronco Sport. Now they send me regular emails for the Bronco even though I have no reservation with them. The one they sent yesterday said that ordering is happening right now, and that the first units will show up in spring, and that 2021 will be a short model year. Then he says "However, we are able to order a Bronco for you now. Let me know if you'd like to go the factory order route and I'll guide you through it" making it seem like I can just jump right in today and get in on that spring delivery.

Dealers definitely aren't helping the situation.

You're kidding right? Nobody has one. Ford hasn't even computed all the orders to assess a schedule. That's months away.
