A little weird I know...

But I have 5 255/75r17 Firestone Destination AT2's in my garage that are going to replace the 285 70 r17 K02's that come stock on our 2.3 MT 2 door Badlands.

I'll save 14 lbs per tire and get better snow traction with the narrower tread - both good for us at high elevation. Only planning on mild off-roading, so loosing 0.35" of ground clearance wasn't a big deal.

We were going to get a Black Diamond 2.3 manual, but wanted Mid Package, so we had to step up to badlands.

Hoping the 32's won't look too bad on a 2 door.

Stock badlands tires are 285/70-17 not 75.... not sure if the weight changes 14 lbs seems like a lot where are you getting the tire weight?

Sorry that was a typo.

BFG K02 on tirerack in 285 70r17 Load C is 51lbs 32.8"

Destination AT2 in 255 75r17 is 37 lbs 32.1" on tirerack.

Thats 14x4 in rotational savings which I definitely will feel going up the mountain.

I was looking at buying 265/75R16 Destination AT2 for my Tacoma because they were the lightest AT I could find. I’m keeping the stock 285/70R17 BFG on the Bronco, but losing a couple pounds per wheel with Method 705. They were 26.5# on my luggage scale.

I think 255/75R17 will look and work fine on your Badlands. You may find the already low 4.7 gearing too low with the smaller tire, but the difference isn’t huge.

Thats really good.... My badlands is non SAS. I kept contemplating if I really wanted 35's or not. This will be my daily / occasional off road adventure and I'm sure the stock 285s will be better on road and easier to get in and out every day.

The different in the tires isn't as much as the numbers seem.

The 285s are more like 32.6 or 32.7 so it's closer to a half inch difference. Likely not noticeable, the less aggressive trend will likely be visually the biggest change.

The skinnier section width will help in snow and most offroad situations that aren't deep snow/sand/mud

Yeah that's what I was thinking. The AT2 is a much better tire for my needs and still looks way better than the donut ones on the big bend.

100%. I am running destination XTs on my xterra currently while waiting for my bronco. Really like those as well. Also pretty might compared to others in the same size (235/80R17)
